Re: Sara Pole Tied BMP
Dave,
I would have simply posted a reply to your original thread but my browswer locks up trying to download the BMP. (And I'm on a cable modem!). 🙂
Although BMP files are clear as a bell, they are not a very good format to post on the web. They are as clear as they are because they are not compressed at all. While this is great for hard drive viewing, they came up with compression algorithms such as JPG so that images could be posted on the web without grinding internet connections to a halt. I would be more than happy to help you with getting your JPGs to look pretty damn good using Photoshop. You can manipulate the color palette used by the image in order to make a clear looking picture, even in JPG format. If you like, next time zip up the bmp file and email it me first so I can compress it for you and then send it back to you as a JPG to post. I can see from the replies that loaded before my browser crashed that some people were able to view the image, but I guarantee ou that many people out there who are not on broadband connections will have difficulty. You're a good friend, Dave and I'm not trying to tell you how to do your art but I have had a lot of experience in graphics optimization and I can help you get better looking JPGs so you can post quicker loading images.
As for the offer to model a lightsaber for you that I mentioned in my email, I see Venger mentioned that he already has one. Although I am great with 2D graphics, I'm not the best 3D modeler so I suggest you go with Venger's saber.
