Reality TV is the definition of 'lazy'

If anyone likes reality TV, that is your right, but for me, it all sucks big time.

I'm a snob when it comes to TV....to me, acting is a craft, and when you see a great actor or actress doing his or her thing, it's really impressive. Playing characters and creating stories, when done well, is a real gift.

Watching Ozzy Osbourne swear at his kids, or watching annoying people on an island fight and argue, or watching people I care zero about spend time in a house.....well, that's just plain LAZY.

Yeah, let's palce a camera on people and put it on TV. Look how easy it is! We make our money and do not an ounce of work. Typical lazy attitude...

I think TV networks should get back to creating original dramas and comedies, hiring talented young writers and actors to keep the 'craft' alive.

Just an opinion.

Totally agree with you! Why watch survivor? we are all trying to survive in this world nowadays! 🙂

While I generally agree with you about reality TV, (except for the Osbournes, I loved that show) there is one part of the production that takes a lot of work. The editing.

When you edit a sitcom for example, you already know what the finished product will look like. All you have to do is cut together the good takes, and make it fit the time allotted.

With a reality show, you have to CREATE a story line out of probably 18 hours worth of footage (for one camera), and make it somewhat interesting to watch. Have you ever just left a video camera rolling in your living room. Real life is usually pretty boring.
