Hi All! As some of you may remember, I mentioned in a previous post that I read stories on literotica.

Well, there is a few things I love about them. First and foremost, is the fact that it free (l got tired of spending good money, at Amazon, for books I ended up not liking)

But, there are down sides to it as well. Like, last night, I found a good story (good storyline), but it had some major issues.

For one, they was a lot of character talking, but not one quotation mark in the whole story.

For another, the whole story was written without commas. Making it very confusing at times.

And, if that wasn't enough, the writer had chosen to paragraph it in a weird way (it would be paragraph broke in the middle of a sentence).

Now, I know you get what you pay for, and it's a free site.

So, I am forgiving of little issues in a story on there (misspelled word, ETC), but, I mean, come on. That is story writing 101 mistakes there.

Have you seen some of the writing in the story section here? Your expectations are too high my friend.

I got to say it's been a little while since I've been in the story section on TMF. What I was saying was, if your going to write a story, you should read a few stories first. At least have the ways of format down.

Back when I was writing, I got some great advice from a book. It said "read before you try writing" . Now, I do admit, my stories wasn't the best, but, at least they were understandable.

I've seen similar writing guffas in the various threads here. Some obviously never learned how to write effectively. Not much one can do about it.

Maybe you can contact these folks and offer your support to take the content and make it more legible! 🙂 Like a collaboration. Or give basic feedback to them on grammar/sentence structure.

While there are amazing writers here who publish their hard work for free (Milagros, Drunkllama, Max Speer, Kunzite, Jose21, Greenfeather77, meangry, Crazy_Fingers, and many, many others), quality often has a price.

I would humbly suggest you buy Tales From the Asylum, from MTJ. If your budget is tight and you can't buy the whole catalog as I did, I recommend Issues 1, 19, 30 and 31 at the very least. Can't go wrong with any of those, IMO.

I like the way you think! Be the change you want to see in the world :goodjob:

That's great advice, but, there is already an " editor's (something) " on literotica.

I think what made me, I don't know if mad is the right word, was the fact it was a good story. I liked the story very much. Definitely at least a 3 and a half score for storyline.

Cool, so it sounds like the resource already exists for users. Maybe there’s a better way it can be spotlighted so that folks utilize it.

And I think the word you’re probably looking for is “frustrated” or “disappointed”. It reminds me of when a movie plot/cast looks so promising, and then the script is just so lackluster. But again, maybe you can investigate the nature of that editors function and see where it can be improved or why (despite its existence) the quality of the story in question still slipped through the cracks. I’m sure it’s not mandatory...but maybe writers just aren’t familiar.

Oh, don't get me started on movies, or Hollywood in general. I've been letdown by so many supposed "blockbusters"

I've learned, the hard way, not to buy into the hype.

Well, that could be true. I have used literotica, on and off, for a long time. Thanks, the word I was looking for was "frustrated"

Yeah, -sigh-, it’s unfortunate. I find that I’m surprised even if I can just say “hey, that was actually pretty good!” to supposed blockbusters. Much better chance of enjoying a good series.

To be honest, I can’t really pretend to be familiar with literotica. I just surmised there was a way to connect and provide feedback. If this story was recently posted, I’m betting you can offer some constructive criticism to the writer which can improve their future content. Some people have such colorful and wonderfully sexy ideas, but they just struggle with conveying it. Good luck with that all.

Thanks, I'm not really into the whole "editing" thing, myself. But, I hope someone who is an editor finds it.

To tell the truth, I didn't even look at the writer's name. I Just know, I linked to it from another story.
