I was listening to some great songs today and I thought...hey...I want more. But it's always nice to get recommendations as to what people like and enjoy...So here I go!

Rules:
1. Post the songs name
2. Tell why it's so good/ why you recommend

I'll start it off. 🙂

Aqueous Transmission by Incubus

why?: It's very peaceful to listen to, the frogs at the end remind me of my house in the summer because they had always help me sleep, so this song remind me of home and I get tranquil when at the dorm

Butthole Surfers: Pepper

You may not have heard this one before...and it's very...different.

Jimmy Fallon - Idiot Boyfriend

For those who have had a miserable other, this song is something you could relate to! It's got some great humor 🙂

One who feeds -Genitorturers

Because hell it's about vampires... and plus it was on the vampire clan Movie! 🙂

Diamond Dogs by Beck
(Love that alliteration)

Anyway, it's a pretty...I don't even know how to describe it. It's a great song!

hey its the song about me!

"May Day" by Tomahawk

If this song doesn't get you going then you are legally dead. It's also where I got my name. Now you know.

"Fake Plastic Trees" radiohead

Seems to be about Canary Wharf...but, the lyrics speak to me, and truly describes alot about life...especially when Thom Yorke says..."...Gravity always wins"

1) "Pleiades" by King's X from their 1989 album "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska"

Because the instrumental piece that closes the song is the most beautiful, intense and uplifting piece of music ever recorded by humans with guitars.

2) "The Grudge" by Tool from their 2001 album "Lateralus"

Because it's what the phrase "Tour de force" was invented for. Heavy, melodic, intelligent, incredibly well arranged and played to perfection. If you like something challenging that doesn't stick to a standard 4/4 time signature look no further. And the drumming - oh, the drumming.

3) "Take 5" by the Dave Brubeck Quartet

Because, because, because, because of the wonderful things it does, it does (to me that is). Who said Jazz had to be hard on the ears? And it's in 5/4 time (Hence the name). And 4 decades later it still sounds as cool as (insert expletive of your choice)

P.S. Curahee1974, I'm not 100% sure but I think "Fake Plastic Trees" was Thom Yorke's take on the Big Apple.

for ppl who cant read what the DOC wrote..just highlight it with you mouse..i found that out after i strained my eyes to read that..lol

What is it there that needs highlighted...all looks like perfectly normal text to me...

*hands Doc a mop after he jizzes in his pants over aformentioned music*

1)The Song Remains the Same- Led Zeppelin The Songs Remains the Same album The group name gsays it all

2) Traffic-D.j.Tiane- A tribute to D.j. Tiesto remix
Incredible music to dance to. I was just turned on to this genre less than 6 months ago and it jams!!!

Ronnie

"My Immortal," Evanescence, because the singer's voice is awesome, almost supernatural sounding. I just love the whole effect, peaceful yet alluring.

"100 Years," Five for Fighting, because the lyrics make sense and the musical score is fantastic.

"bring me to life" also by evanescence. Undeniably THE most perfect sounding song ever recorded by anybody in the history of the universe. 😀

other solid songs:
"learn to fly" foo fighters
"roam* b52s
"the day I tried to live" soundgarden (also anything from 'superunknown' its a good album)

*Take the time*......Dream Theater!!!!! 😎

Wow, Nessie -- I LOVE "Roam" and "Fly" ... the B52's and Foo Fighters are two of my perennial favourite bands 🙂 In fact, one of the few albums I have is the B52's "Cosmic Thang," which contains "Roam" 🙂

ill be the first to admit to being a comic book dork and with the movie coming out I've gotta say
"Broken" by Seether and Amy Lee of Evanescence
just listening to the lyrics I can see Frank Castle losing his family in "The Punisher"

"black Mountain Rag", "sally Goodin", "nine Pound Hammer" Etc. All Flatpicking Acoustic Guitar Instrumentals By My Hero, The Late Clarence White. This Man Revolutionized Bluegrass Guitar From Stunning Syncopation To Flawless, Lightning-fast Lead Guitar Work.these Songs Are A Good Example Of His Prowess.

Miisy Val..."Roam" was my all time favorite song when I was a kid. I'd sit up for hours watching mtv hoping they'd air it!
Now hearing it just makes me happy 😀

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (live) - awesome

Counting Crows - Anna Begins (slow studio acoustic) - has a huge amount of feeling behind the performance.

Maroon 5 - This Love. I'm just rocing out to Maroon 5 at the moment, the whole album Songs About Jane is great.

Incubus - A Certain Shade of Green (live acoustic).

I think I'm a fan of acoustic tracks!

I'll add a couple of non acoustic tracks for balance:

Audioslave - Cochise. Best opening to a song I've heard in ages. Great in the car.

Joe Satriani - Seven String. I wish I could play the guitar like Joe Satriani. *sigh*

Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do. So sue, me, Sheryl rocks!

David Gray - Babylon (radio version). Babylon is one of my all time favourite tracks.

My current iTunes/iPod library stands at 1572 tracks - it's hard to narrow it down!

Sorry Naveltklr, you were right. When I posted that I accidentally managed to do it in white. I re-edited it to black immediately afterwards. Just didn't realise you'd read it so quickly
