On an unrelated note, I gave up TTC/ Tickling Fetishism for Lent.
...
Oops. Guess I'll have to give something ELSE up. :/
I digress. I got Fable 2, Collector's edition when it first came out in 2008. I loved Fable 1, despite its shortcomings, and the fact that not all the features Ol' Pete Moleneux wanted to put in weren't, well... developed.
For those who don't know, Fable is an RPG for the PC/Xbox, where the choices you make determine what you become, beit good, evil, or anywhere in between. And proof positive if you say something is awesome long and loud enough, it is AWESOME.
My qualm is not with Fable; it's with Fable 2; more specifically, the 'Premium' edition.
When it was first announced, the 'Premium' edition was said to include 3 Lithographs of in-Game art, A Hobbe (Cave-Troll) Figurine with a pot and chicken leg accessory, a making of DVD, and exclusive Downloadable content.
I recieved a call a week later that made a part of me die inside. I was told by an automated machine that the Hobbe Figurine and the Lithographs would not be featured in the Special edition. However, the Downloadable content and the making of DVD would be intact. Oh, and I'd get $10 back when I picked it up.
It would have helped if I had LIVE back then. I would have known about the fact a number of the Special Edition Fable 2 games were MISSING codes for the exclusive Downloadable content.
What's so special about it anyway? it's an exclusive dungeon with a Legendary weapon at the end of it, as well as an exclusive Armor set, 'Hal's Armor', which looks like Master-Chief's armor, an obvious Halo Tie in. See my rant regarding Halo 3 and Mountain Dew HERE

So, I learn I didn't have the Downloadable content. Recently I got Xbox Live, and I downloaded Knothole Island. One of the items featured in this expansion is a Rifle known as 'Hal's Rifle'. It looks like a Space Marine Carbine from Halo.
So I'm all 'For F**k's sake', and I go looking for the Code I need to download that extra content I don't even have; I figure given my Sloppeh lifestyle, I lost it or something.
I check the Microsoft website, and apparantly, the issue of missing codes was addressed. I said this already, god knows how many times, but my point is, if I wanted an extra Dungeon Crawl and a Halo Gimmick... it's too late now, because whatever miracle solution Xbox had, it's gone. Dec. 31, 2008 was the last day they had it...
So 2 points I wanna make:
1; if anyone has a copy of Fable 2; Collector's edition, and they don't CARE about the extra content... could you send me the code to unlock it please? (keep in mind, as soon as it's acticvated it becomes NULL. so people who already entered the code need not apply; Same goes for people who care about Hal's Armor set, or the Halls of the Dead and the Wreckager)
2; If you are promising to deliver gameplay gimmicks like what Peter Molenux was hoping to achieve with Fable, such as changing the game world significantly that's one thing; (he's getting close, but he's not quite there with it.)
But don't say you're gona sell a special edition with bells and whistles, and then say 'oh, by the way... we're cutting out 80% of the extra content.'
Would you pay for the Archived Series of Annie the Ameture Pirate, Complete with concept art and fanart sketch books, and a DVD containing a Pilot of the Animated series, only to find you got... what, half of an issue with the staples missing and a dog-eared page? the half that doesn't have the tickling in it? and would you accept a $10 refound? (apologies and compliments to Darkharp; If I didn't like the series, I wouldn't have been keen enough to use it as a hypothetical example.)
Sure it has character development, but that's about it.
So, discuss.
