I just had to share with you guys and gals one of the single greatest experiences of my life. The 19th of October I actually got to meet one of my idols as both a kid and adult...Ronnie James Dio. First of all, the concert here at the Verizon theater was awesome. Dio still puts on one of the best shows ever. After the show, about 25 of us went out by the buses to wait for the band (I only do this with bands that I actually care about). After about 1 hour and 45 min, the man himself finally exited the club. I have to say that as much of a living legend as he is, he is also the warmest, nicest, most cordial person you will ever encounter. He actually SPENT TIME with his fans graciously signing everthing that they brought, possing for pictures, and even having conversations with them. So I could pontentially spend the most time with him I patiently got to the end of the "line" (which was cool because right before he got to me he looked at me and said "Last in line huh?"...awesome...). He signed my Holy Diver LP, ticket stub and promo concert poster. Through talking to him I basically let him know how inspirational and influential his music had been to me...to which he responded "That's wonderful. You see, you get it." I also took a couple pictures with us both making the sign of the devil at the camera. SWEET!!!
