Hi everybody.

I just wanted to remind everyone that this season can get crazy. We all get wrapped up in our own things and sometimes forget those for whom Christmas is a time of anxiety and sorrow.

There are a lot of children out there for whom Christmas will be just another day without our help. Please check your local community for whatever Toys for Tots programs are currently being offered.

Say what you will about this season as an adult, but every child deserves a toy for Christmas. It breaks my heart to think of those with nothing this time of year, and any generous offering will be forever remembered by a lucky child.

So please remember what this season is really about and give a little something for those who really need it.

Thanks.🙂

My goal was to remember the Kids. That is why I held the Charity Event and fund raiser for the Tomorrows Children Fund in November and a mere $400.00 was donated/raised even with the extention of the deadline for donations to be sent to the Hyenas Club snail mail box.
Only ONE person sent a donation. So, I guess they are not as remembered as we would like.🙁

I do wish to thank again those who did attend the Hyenas Club Charity Gathering and thank them for their donations.

That's too bad that you didn't get more help. It IS harder getting cash donations online. I try to think that maybe people already gave, but you never know.

If you can't give cash to a cause, go to any larger department store and they are sure to have a collection box at the front of the store. It's doesn't take much to pick out a ten or twelve dollar toy and drop it in the box. On a better note, I noticed that the box at my local Wal-Mart is overflowing!

My GF knew I was looking for a good Millenium Falcon model kit, but got me the old toy playset by mistake. (She's doesn't know that much about SW, but the thought was nice.) I wound up finding the model, so I took the playset and put it in the collection box. I hope it brings some joy to an otherwise unlucky kid.

That's all it takes, guys! Give what you can.😎

Another way to make a child's Christmas extra special is a program through the Red Cross called "Adopt a Family". I've done it the last 3 years.

You sign up and receive a list of the family and their children's names, sizes and the childrens' wish lists. You go shopping for the kids and you can even buy for the adults as well. You have an option to supply Christmas Dinner.

Then on Christmas Eve you deliver the goods to the family. The looks on the kids faces is absolutely incredible. Yet I got just as much if not more out of it. Just helping to make the holiday extra special for a family who's not as fortunate as I have been helps to warm up the christmas spirit.

So... it's not too late. Try that. Or go down to the Toys for Tots and help to sort the toys. That's really fun too. Our whole group at work is going to do that again this year.

There's lots of ways to make a child's Christmas special. And the rewards are absolutely incredible!

wow, the more I am on here the more I see what this place is made of....

such a great bunch of people...

here is my silly little life and my silly little point of view....

I am absolutely broke.... I am so broke I have no idea how I am going to pay my january rent... I get my loan check about a week too late.... yes I am a college student..... this does not cater to excesses.... but still,

every time I have change left when I am out I give it away if I have an opportunity, which I usually do....

this is what I know, no matter how broke I am, someone needs it more.....no matter how unfunded I am , someone needs to eat, or have toys.....

I get such a wonderful feeling when I give even just a little bit, because I do it from a point of view of love (c'mon, group hug), and I hope everyone else will be the same way

nothing feels better than to give, except giving beyond your means.... so lets do it.

this is such a great community, and I am so happy to be amongst you

word!

Another way to help your community is to spend some time at the Soup Kitchen or help to sort food. It doesn't cost you anything but your time and the rewards are endless.

Yea

I have already made a few donations, plan on making more!!! 🙂

Jeez, it's been years since I worked in an office that DIDN'T have a donation tree. Last few have also taken collections for the local Second Harvest food center. Makes givin' really easy.
