Fritz remained in Critical Condition in the ICU of the hospital in OKC, as Fritz's family, Ross, and Steve took turns sitting vigil, and being there to support Fritz
Ross and Steve also knew that if God Forbid Fritz did not survive, there would be heartbreak personally, for Mister P's family, Ross, Steve, and others, as well as perhaps serious and maybe company ending consquences for RFS Energy, with millions in potential losses to investors, potential lawsuits from many diferent directions, and at worst case scenario, bankruptcy for RFS, and the company would cease to exist.
Fritz's pulse and heartbeat were weak following the surgery. His vital signs were sometimes near death. However, in spite of Fritz's severe surgery, and his massive weight, Fritz's strong body, and determination to survive, were causing him to hang on.
A couple of times, Fritz awakened from sleep, and groaned a hello to his family and to Ross and Steve.
Each day that Fritz survived, and that his vital signs remained stable or improved, there stood a greater chance for him to survive, but it would be a long, difficult road.
Ross and Steve spent their days and nights shuttling back and forth from the hospital to the RFS office by Uber.
Ross checked the records of RFS carefully, and found that RFS had several business insurance policies to guard against lawsuits, and "unforeseen circumstances" such as the passing of one or all of the officers/ partners of the company.
Ross and Steve were so exhausted from sitting vigil for Mister P, that they decided to turn any records they found over to the company attorneys and accountants. A full evaluation would take up to 30 days, but as the days went on, those researching this situation would have a "better idea" of what the "lay of the land was"
As the weekend came closer, Fritz was conscious, but weak. Ross asked Fritz, Steve, and Fritz's family if they would mind whether Ross flew home for the weekend to see Kayley, and to make an appearance at RossShell on Mnnday just to check things, and that Ross would return that Monday night.
All agreed to that. Ross called Kayley, made an afternoon flight home on Friday, and arrived home close to Midnight.
Kayley was awake when Ross arrived. The couple kissed. Both said nothing. Ross showered, changed, went into bed, and the couple cuddled.
"Kale, except if something happened to one of us, or our families, I have never been so scared in all my life. You know that I feel warm feelings toward Mister P and Steve more than any people I've ever done business with. They are such kind gentlemen., so easy to be around, to be friends with, to work with" Ross said.
Kayley kissed Ross. "I know, baby. Thank God Mister P has so far survived his serious surgery, and seems to be making slow progress. Let;'s hope that Mister P recovers fully even if its slowly, for himself, his family, his friendship and partnership with Steve and you, and for RFS" Kayley said kindly.
"I'm going to check the pigpen on Monday before I go back to OKC. I dont want to, but I know that I have to. I will go back to OKC Monday night, continue being with everyone down there, and move on. I gave RFS company records to the company attorneys and accountants to see exactly where we stand financially and legally, both in case God Forbid something were to happen to Mister P, which it hopefully God Willing wont, and even if it does not, to see where we stand, and if there is anything we can change once Mister P gets out of this, so that we can protect ourselves if one of us gets seriously ill , incapacitated , or God Forbid passes away. " Ross said.
"Thats a good idea" Kayley said.
That weekend, Ross and Kayley rested, and went to Chinatown Flushing for dinner on Saturday night. Ross badly wanted Chinese food to lighten his mood by eating his favorite food, as all he had been eating while he was in OKC were "local favorites" Steak, burgers, and chicken.
On Monday, Ross kissed Kayley goodbye, went to the office with his suitcase, and just showed up to check on things.
"The Man is here until my flight to OKC tonight. Anything happening?" Ross said to Victor.
"No, everything and everyone is quiet. Tim and Harton have thankfully been respectful of your situation with your close friend and partner Mister P being so ill, and we are trying to keep things moving. How is Mister P, most importantly?" Vic asked.
"Thankfully, Mister P is out of intensive care, and has been moved to close watch care. He is not in a regular room yet, but is in a place where they can closely monitor him, as his condition is "Stable to potentially serious." It will be a long road, and a "process, " as my Dad likes to say, but hopefully God Willing Mister P is headed in the right direction for himself, his family, Steve and I, and the company. All of us need him in every way. Mister P is such a wonderful guy to be with , and to work with. He deserves to fully recover, even if said recovery is slow, and to go back to as normal of a life as he can possibly have after such a frightening event" Ross said.
Ross sat through the day, a quiet one, then he had to head to the airport. Ross hoped that he would be back for at least a visit to the RossShell office on the following Monday, but was still uncertain of a permanent return date.
Ross's flight took off. He changed planes in Dallas, went to the hotel, texted Steve, and Steve said that they would meet in the morning both to see Mister P, and to go through situations with the company.
In the morning, around 7 am, Ross's phone was beeping with a text.
The text contained "Major news"
Was the news about Mister P's health, another important person's health, or something to do with RFS, or.. RossShell?
That would be seen.
