Zipped files are only as safe as what is inside; I recommend scanning all downloaded files with a good antivirus scanner before opening them.
Files split with .zip and .rar have to be unzipped and rejoined before they are usable. Even non-split videos should be unzipped before playing to ensure proper playback. In any case, you can only play a zipped video by saving it to your computer first and then rejoining or opening it, as the case may be.
