I don't feel great about placing this, but, has to do with a medical incident with my next door neighbor. He's 70+ yrs old, was there when we moved in in 1989 (WHAT?), and has been a third grandfather to my kids. In my present job, I have often been having to work the night shift, roughly 4 PM on. Some personnel changes recently have allowed me to be more day oriented, before 4 PM. Well, tonight, I was sitting at my computer around 5:30 - 6, in my dining room (don't ask...), and I was hearing a "yelp" outside (a bit faint). It kept up, and got me curious....also sounded like "help". I went out back, walked around, and saw my neighbor's back patio door slightly open. Then I heard "help", and I knew where it came from. He had been in a car accident about 20 yrs ago (I won't give the gory details). Apparently, he was filling some bird feeders, and fell out of his wheel chair. When I got there, yep that was what happened, he was delerious, and injured. We were able to call 911 to get him back in his wheelchair and address his wound (he had one hell of a hand wound, however it happened). Usually, I would have been at work at that time, and then........who knows?
Talk about God, Karma, good deeds, whatever. I thank God I was there at that time. To each his/her own. Guess that's why we're all here.
