Oh my god, now THAT breaks my heart. You ever see that documentary about him? It's mind-boggling. Poor Roky. At least he got help for the last twenty years of his life or so. Yeah, "You're Gonna Miss Me", good choice, Bugman. You were right, Roky, we're gonna miss you.

Damn, Bugman, Roky lived right around you, didn't he?

Here's my three favorites, always has been my "go-to Roky" and this first one....awww, they should play it at his memorial. I'll bet they do. I can hear your voice, echoing my voice.....sweet..... such a beautiful song.....I wish I lived in this song.....it's a great "end of the night" song......

Didn't know that first one, thanks! That's classic Roky! I kill people all day long....I sing my song.... Oh my god....that's our Roky!

Those other two are favorites of mine also! (Those You Tubers though! Night Of The Vampire isn't 13th Floor Elevators! it's his 70s band, Roky Erickson & The Aliens. I think that's produced by Stu Cook, from Creedence, incidentally).

Whenever it's hot, OR cold, I am known to say to people: "Cold Night For Alligators", ripping off Roky's title. Ha! i remember getting that album with "I Think Of Demons" and just marveling at the song titles on the ride home. I was like, what could this possibly sound like? lol.

One of the great acid casualties, the American Syd Barrett, him and Skip Spence. Now there's a supergroup for ya. Only in rock and roll heaven. Throw Alex Chilton in, make it a four-piece.

Never got to see him, though. Anybody? I'd love to know what that was like!
