Ross was still working hard on his new venture.
One day, he received a very surprising call at the office.
"Ross, A Fritz Paterson on the phone for you. He says he's from Houston, and knows people from Oklahoma City" Ross assistant said.
Ross picked up the phone. "Mr Paterson, what can I do for you sir"
"Call me Fritz, Ross. I'm going to be in New York in a few days. My partner Steve White and me heard about your newest venture. We think we can help you. Can you meet me?" Fritz asked.
"Of course, Fritz. Call me when you get to the city, and I will make you top priority" Ross said.
Ross did not say a word to Kayley or Vic out of fear of bad luck.
Two days later, Fritz called Ross when Fritz was in New York
The next day, Ross and Fritz met in a steakhouse in Manhattan.
"Fritz, nice to meet you, sir" Ross said.
"The pleasure is all mine, Ross" Fritz replied.
After opening pleasantries, the two men got down to business
"I'm in land, and own several warehouses down in Houston My business partner Steve is in oil down in Oklahoma. We own many warehouses and companies in that area" Fritz said.
"Yes, sir" Ross said.
"I'm fairly certain that people I know can help you with a product to help turn around your new venture. I know that it will be a lot of work. The point is, that since you already own the companies, we let the people design the product. Then, after the product is manufactured, we store it in my business partner Steve';s warehouse. I know many people who can help sell and distribute any new product. If the company starts off small, we can find you small orders that will eventually turn much bigger as the process goes along. It will not be a mega profit at first, but it will get much larger. Within a year, this venture will be extremely profitable" Fritz said.
Ross smiled. "It sounds like an excellent idea. I'm definitely interested."
"When I get back to Texas, I will call Steve and we will set up a conference call later in the week" Fritz said.
"Okay, please get in touch with me when you return to Houston. I will make myself available anytime you and Steve can talk to me" Ross said.
Ross left the meeting with a very positive feeling, almost feeling like a boy who had pitched a winning game. He returned home, with almost an air of bravado about him.
"Kayley Ann " Ross said, in an even but calm tone"
"Yes, husband?" Kayley replied.
"What was that about these companies being too dangerous? I just had a very interesting meeting with a guy who might well take this company to blast off.
If he does, I will personally be gloating at everyone" Ross said,.
Ross continued. "He's a guy Fritz Paterson from Houston. He has a business partner Steve Whit from Oklahoma. They own warehouses and land. Fritz says he can get together a new product for the three of us to sell, and Fritz and Steve can help me market and store the product. It sounds like it could mean a lot of money" Ross said.
Kayley kissed Ross. "I'm happy for you, honey, I really am. I would love to see this business be profitable for you, even if it is not the largest deal you've ever done" Kayley said.
When Ross went to bed that night, he thought to himself.
Ross was going down a new, untraveled road. The deal that Fritz had proposed had sounded like a very interesting and profitable potential deal.
How would things work out with this venture?
That remained to be seen.
