Ross increasingly felt like he was working two full time positions.
Ross still had to be CEO of a marketing firm that had to be kept stable.,., or at least, expand a little. More so for Ross's comfort than for anything else.
Yet, Ross was becoming more deeply involved in the Oil and Gas business, as, in addition to expanding the business Ross, Fritz, and Steve were involved with, the three men were also buying small, struggling oil and gas companies at bargain basement prices, to expand their oil and gas ventures as quickly as possible.
If such was possible, after as hard as Ross had worked to continually expand RossShell, Ross was almost becoming.. disinterested with anyone and anything that had to do with RossShell that was not named Tim Patrick or had anything to do with Tim Patrick.
Someone Ross knew suggested one of two things. Either. Ross take in a partner to help him with either the oil and gas ventures or RossShell, or Ross should sell off at least some of the marketing ventures of RossShell to reduce his workload, and his pressure.
One night as they were eating dinner at home, Kayley could see that Ross was wearing himself out, and she became .. snippy with him,.
"What do you want to do? Kill yourself? You're working two full time jobs, being CEO of a major marketing company, and trying to become an oil and gas tycoon. What all for? To run yourself into the ground until you get sick??" Kayley snapped.
Ross slammed his fork down, and stood up from the table.
Rpss stared hard at Ksyley.
"Stop it, Kayley! I have not taken any of this out on you! Have I snapped at you? Failed to show up home? Not done my husbandly duty of loving you, or making love to you? Why are you riding my ass?!"" Ross snapped.
"I'm "riding your ass" as you say, because I love you more than anything in the world, and I'm becoming terrified of all this! You want to have your cake and eat it too! You want to be CEO of a major marketing company, and an oil and gas tycoon. You're working two jobs and killing yourself for no reason! There is a solution to this! I think you should scale RossShell down some to take at least some of the pressures off yourself. Keep Tim Patrick and anything or anyone associated with him. Get rid of other ventures and products and accounts that you don't absolutely need. You 're beginning to make a lot of money from the oil and gas anyway You can always pick up new accounts for RossShell which involved marketing if something does not pan out with an oil and gas venture or marketing project. I'm worried that you are going to get sick, and not be able to do anything
at all! " Kayley said.
Ross Sighed, and gave a small smirk.
"Why is it that women always seem to make sense? They call women the emotional ones. " Ross said, not meaning to sound sexist.
Then Ross continued. "If I do what you suggested, I would need to have a full evaluation of all of RossShell's marketing ventures, and worth. You and me both know that I would get a lot of money if I sell off even part or half of RossShell. Also, if I do that, I could scale the office down, without all the big overhead and the staff, and just keep some people like Vic, a secretary, an assistant, and a few other people" Ross said.
"What would be the problem with that?" Kayley asked.
"Nothing, I guess. I love oil and gas , Kayley, it's like I'm becoming.. addicted to it. With each small company Steve, Fritz and me buy. I feel like I just want more and more. I almost want to be in oil and gas more than marketing, but I know how risky it is, and with as hard as I've worked to build RossShell into this mega company after I gave up the other company, I feel like it is irresponsible to you, me, my hard work, and the people who work for me, to just give it all up for some basically new venture" Ross said.
"That's why I'm saying do a compromise. Keep RossShell to both do regular work, because you have worked so hard to build it, and also as our safety net. I'm not ordering you to give up either thing. I'm just telling you to please scale down RossShell for the good of both of our physical and emotional health" Kayley said.
"Ross sighed. "Okay, you win. I will do what you suggested. I just have to figure all this out" Ross said.
"It is not a question of "winning, Ross. I am trying to do this for the greater good" Kayley said.
Ross kissed Kayley. "You irritate the hell out of me sometimes, wife, but I love you more than life itself" Ross said.
"That goes the same for me, husband" Kayley said.
When Ross got to the office the next day, he gave strict orders to his secretary and assistant.
"Hold all messages, even from Tim. I have to make a couple of very important phone calls. Tell whoever calls that I will call them back ASAP" Ross said.
"Of course, Ross" Ross's secretary said.
Ross went into his office, paused, and gave a big sigh. Then he called a friend who was a specialist in evaluation of worth of companies.
"Hi, this is Ross. Could we possibly meet as soon as possible? I will explain at the meeting. I need a full evaluation of all of RossShell's holdings, worth, and such. I want it to be through, but I also need it done on the very short term. I cannot get into details now, but I will when you and me meet" Ross said to his mysterious friend.
Ross clicked off his cell phone, and sat in his chair deep in thought.
Was Ross truly going to sell off or give up part of RossShell? Was this just a fleeting suggestion, or was he serious, and would Kayley keep bringing up the subject to persuade Ross if he did not do such?
