ROTC For Me

Found out the career path Id mostly likely need to pursue requires I enter the military as an officer.....whcih means ROTC here I come. Now I have to see which branch would be best. At first I thought Marines but their fields arent as wide as the other branches. Damn I was looking forward to boot camp. I'm so confused. 🙁

I wanted to be a Navy SEAL so I would have the qualitfications to then transfer and become a CIA field agent.

By the way. ROTC won't get ya into the SEALS either. If anyone told you that they lied 🙂 The way the NAV gets SEALS is by tryouts during BootCamp. OR by recruiting for volunteers after you've been in for awhile.
Either way you need to pass a strenuous tryout which I seriously doubt you can pass.

And why the hell do you think you need SEAL experience to be a CIA Field Agent???????

Well I for one can say that I've met ICE. And based on his build, his strength and his personality I bet he'd make it into the Seals if that's where he truly wants to be.

Ice - I think that's really cool that you're going into the ROTC and the Service. That's an incredible opportunity for you and I appreciate the fact that you're joining the service to help preserve our freedom.

You know, it doesn't surprise me that you'd take that road. You're a really cool guy with alot to offer.

Ice, best of luck in ROTC if you decide that route. I remember the days of ROTC, it actually helps quite a bit, so take advantage of it if you can🙂

CIA. I looked into the CIA and the FBI once when I was unemployed believe it or not they do higher scientists. Unfortunately my eyesight was not good enough so they would not let me in. Anyway congratulations Ice I wish you the best of luck. Keep us posted as to whats going on.

Back in the early 90's there was a female democrat senator from Colorado Patricia-can't remember her last name who had a couple Navy officers court martialed because they made fun of her in a play

What gets me is when I was in I was told I had the same Constitutional Rights as when I was a civilian That too is a bunch of crap If the military did,then why were those 2 Navy officers court martialed? All I'm saying is be careful what you say to your fellow officers For the record I spent 10 years in the Air Force

Shiningice,was that Navy officer you talked to a recruiter? If so he may repeat may be not telling you the whole story If it's possible,see if you can talk to a SEAL officer and find out how you can apply for that training once you become an officer

Good luck Ice. Actually, I got sucked into this thread... I thought ROTC stood for Rolling On The Carpet! 😛

I had a little college when I went into the navy as a grunt. Bootcamp sucks dude! I always thought that the best branches of the armed forces (at least from the enlisted man's point of view) were the Air Force (slow promotion and competition is fierce), and the Coast Guard. They treat their enlisted people better than the other branches do.

Good luck if you go for SEALS. Those guys are bad asses, and they get that way because if regular bootcamp is hell, SEALS training is the part of hell that Hitler is confined to.
