I hope and pray that this will be only temporary. But, because of three months plus of hacking and e-mail bombs, we have decided to bow out of the online community...and may be cancelling the gathering as well.

We've been telling ourselves to not give in and let the bastards win. We've been telling ourselves that they'll get sick of their bullshit games. BUT...We've grown sick of having to wipe and reformat our system every other week. We're sick of losing material that takes time, effort and money to compile. We're sick of having to put off other projects in order to keep our system running. And, we're sick of game-playing.

What we've come down to is the unfortunate realization that there are members of this community who are deeply disturbed and seem to have no other purpose in life than trying to frame others in order to feel good about themselves. While you're patting yourselves on the back, remember one thing. It's going to be hard to do that when you're in handcuffs! We DO know who you are. We WILL be pressing charges. You WILL do jail time.

For those of you who we count as friends, please forgive our departure. We hope to be back some day. But, for the moment, our security must take precidence.

I'm sorry to hear about these attacks. It seems as if some people must destroy others to prop themselves up, esp. if the targets are trying to do something positive for the community. I hope that some of the more hacker-savvy folks here could help set you up with better defenses, but I understand the frustration of wanting to stop having to defend at all. Please at least keep in touch now and again. 😀

Can't ya just get one of the cheaper AOL accounts, and post your events there? If you access only through an ISP, instead of dialing in, it's only $15, which isn't a bad deal, since they can't be hammered in the same way, generally speaking. Something to consider.

You folks were making such fine contributions. You were so much fun to meet. I hope you find a way to stay here, change the name on the old email account, get the AOL account as a baffle and a website therein, and go from there. You can then host your events, as others do.

Computer experts are involved already in this. We have had some good results thus far. Dont be fooled...dont jump to conclusions.. the person responsible has done his/her darndest to try to frame others.. they have not fooled us! As Ann says it is only a matter of a short time before actual charges will be filed.


As far as a federal offense..well lets see...systems from several countries other than the US have been compromised so the boundaries have been crossed and the penalties are a little more severe than you might think..jail time is a definite..

Any way... fret not as none of us will let the jerk win this one.. he/she has made too many mistakes.....nuff said on the topic...
