One of the biggest chokes in NFL history! although i lost money on the game, i at least have the satisfaction of seeing the superbowl champs become superbowl chumps! :yayzorz:

They embarrassed the entire city of new orleans today. a gutless display!

I'm not surprised. Too much was made out of their record. You should have seen this coming. A team gets heavily disrespected by everyone, and they were playing at home. This was a perfect upset scenario and it happened....

But the Seahawks run should be over.....

And THAT is why....you win your division, you're in the playoffs. End of argument.

Seattle will get pounded whoever they play next. this was their superbowl today.

Yeah, and your ass sucks carpet tacks. You're the same guy who thought Seattle couldn't beat NO. Good thing no one is dumb enough to take your advice on betting.

Well, that was.... unexpected.

Congratulations to the Seahawks. This is not only a good thing for them though... It's a good thing for the playoff format. The further their run takes them, the easier it will be to justify keeping things the same as they are.

I don't think it was the Saints "choking" as much as the Seahawks playing a great game. The Saints went up 10-0 quickly. Passed well. even got a halfway decent running game going for a team with none of their starters. They got outplayed...they didn't choke.

Like Slacker said, this is why you go to the playoffs for winning your division. What amazes me is the amount of people (not really here, just in my life surrounded by football fanatics here in Pittsburgh) who say the 'Hawks shouldn't be here at 7-9...being the same folks who always espouse the "everyone's 0-0 when the playoffs start" reasoning in other circumstances.

And are the Seahawks one-and-done? Maybe not. If Green Bay wins tomorrow and goes to Atlanta, that'll send Seattle to Chicago...who I really think they can beat. Easily? Of course not...but more than doable.

Should the Seahawks actually pull off the impossible and go to the Super Bowl (which I add the obvious caveat of "unlikely"), they will have done it by defeating the defending Super Bowl champs and at least one of the top two seeded teams in the conference...if not both. With the handicap of coming in at 7-9.

Should it happen, they will have earned it...legitimately.

Saints played with no heart. they didnt come to play. id be shocked if seattle won another game against anyone.

This is the same Seahawks team that beat Chicago this same season although it seems ages ago in I believe week 3 at Chicago. Nothing says history couldn't be repeated again.

Let's talk about yet another Manning choke. Just another reason why Tom Brady is superior to him.

My saints didn't deserve to win that's for sure. But knowing maniac lost
money, makes it hurt less

Just shows that the saints are a one hit wonder team. They are garbage, the seahawks totally deserved this win, and id love to see them go to the bowl and win the whole thing. drew brees and the rest of the lame saints can go back to the swampy bayou and choke on a dangle doo

Let's talk about yet another Manning choke. Just another reason why Tom Brady is superior to him.

Brady certainly looks good this year, but he's also playing on a better team than Manning. As good as the Colts have been over the past decade, they're finally starting to struggle with the rebuilding phase.

More than anything, Belichick is a master at keeping Brady's support strong. The Patriots don't have the best defense in the league, but their offense is far and away the best despite not having Moss anymore.

Manning has had some serious issues with interceptions lately, but he's also playing for a team that has a mediocre defense and an offense that has been depleted by injuries.

In some ways, this makes comparing both of them difficult. I'm pretty sure Brady would be struggling right now if he played for the Colts, just as Manning would be pretty dominant on the Patriots.

Yeah, that lost money hurts, but seeing the one hit wonder saints get humiliated was almost worth it! almost. time to wait another 30 years for a superbowl! :sorry:

Guess the only way to get rid of Mania is for the Jets to win next week, but then it will be how the refs blew the game or how the ball bounced for just the Jets. I just hope it doesn't snow cause we know the Pats like to cheat with snow plows for field goal kicks and lets not forget the Oakland game with Gannon and how the refs won that one for the Pats.

Id be shocked if the jets beat the Pats. the Jets are just average at best. they beat a sub par colts team.

Seattle played like they had something to prove...it hurts your pride to be told all week that you don't belong and that your presence is a freakish circumstance at best. New Orleans is going to have to carry this horse collar around their necks...but then, it was something they did often before last January.

Guess what? I think Seattle can very well beat Chicago! That CHICAGO is where they are is the true miracle! All I hear about is their defense, when, every time I see them, it's nonexistent. Cutler gives up more than his share of turnovers, but with Mike Martz calling the shots, he's coughing 'em up like Rex Ryan scarfing it up at Taco Bell. How Chicago got as far as they did, is the great question of the year. And, they're vulnerable. Seattle can win that game.

Jets: don't think so.

Chicago got where they are for almost the same reasons Seattle did. Lack of competition within the division. Yes, Chicago had Green Bay to deal with, but the Packers needed to bounce back from a LOT of injuries and slumped for a bit there. With the Vikings imploding and Detroit being...well...Detroit, it didn't take too much for Chicago to take that division. Given the totality of the NFC this year, Chicago earned their berth. Now they (like everyone) need to keep it.

Thing is...you can't chalk everything up to that. Both Seattle and Chicago played some good games, and apparently enough to win their divisions. The playoffs are the great equalizer.

Well they got their day in the sun with the Superbowl; now they go by the wayside.

I can remember all last year's superbowl media attention going to Manning. I can remember the first half of the game of the Colts all but owning the Saints. Then after halftime, the Saints came out and spanked the Colts like an unruly toddler.......took 'em to the woodshed!

So now it's another team's turn....I'm curious to see how far the Seahawks go.
