Hi..We are taking a trip to Salem next weekend and neither one of us has ever been there. Can anyone inform me on where to go and what to see (other than the witch museum)? We are just spending the weekend there so if someone could enlighten us it would be appreciated.

FANTASTIC! I lived in North Andover as a teen~there's TONS of witch related sites to see--have fun! One of my best friends is a decendent (sp?) of Goodie Osgood---the family still resides in the house which is now a national monument, has a plaque that says "erected in 1614" or something like that. Let us know how it goes?

I've been going to Salem for halloween for the past few years. If you go on Halloween weekend, it's like Mardis Gras < sp? House of Seven Gables is a good walk thru, graveyards that have been around a few hundred years - if that interests you, lots of shops and just a generally good time of year to go.
I was just telling my friend that I was thinking of heading over there again one of these weekends, as I don't think we're going for halloween. We might check out the Village Parade in NYC this year.
I'm sure you'll have a good time, no matter what.

Ive gone to salem a couple times. personally, i wasnt that impressed. i was always a hardcore Spookyworld guy. (which has been closed down) 🙁 im sure if you go on halloween night it would be a much better time. your best bet is to check out salem websites. steph, i think you should get out here for the new spooky exhibit. its called the tickle dungeon. id loooooooooove to show you the ropes! bwahahahahah!!!!! }:>

The Haunted Happenings, as it's known, usually goes on for the month of October but the best time to go is on halloween, especially if it falls on a weekend. A couple of years ago, we stayed at a hotel about 4 miles outside of Salem and took a cab into town. It took an hour to go 4 miles, the traffic was so bad. People just started partying outside their cars, with stopped traffic, on the highway - lol.
Picture NYC on busy day and that's what it looked like, but with everyone dressed! ( well, some days NYC can look like that too 😱
