Heres an original character of mine for one of my mangas thats in the works. The story takes place in the future and is much akin to the Wing Commander series, of which I am a fan. This is a basic conceptual picture of her, and there are things in her appearance and uniform, even bio, that may change over time.

This is Commodore Julia Nova.

Without getting into too much detail for several reasons, she holds a rather lofty position in the High Command and is an active democratic presense in the Senate (all despite her youthful 27 years). She is a veteran of many battles (one of which cost her her left eye which was replaced with a robotic eye) and is a venerable warrior who has proven her mettle time and time again and has truely earned her rise in the ranks. Shes knows the value of peace talks and of diplomacy in an era ridden by war, and she always trys her best to negotiate with the many factions and races known to the Imperium in order to avoid hostilities.

Commodore Nova is still an active officer however, and will lend her services where they are needed most to whatever branch may need them. She is long thought a hero and commissioned and non-commissioned officers alike respect and admire her strong will and caring nature, from which a great loyalty is created. Despite her gentle approach, her martial skills are not to be underestimated, and by virtue of her sword fighting skills, is regarded as a master swordswoman. Her naval strategy and command ability is also on par with and exceeds even some of the most brilliant tacticians the Imperium has ever seen.

Indeed, the only thing paralleled by her excellent diplomacy skills is in fact her multi-talented/roled nature as an officer for the Imperium. This alone makes her a treasured asset. Though modest, she knows it, the High Command knows it, the forces of the Imperium know it and even would-be enemies know it. She's a credit to humanity and those whom she's helped are greatful and those who would oppose a force led by her are wary.

Recently however, her skirimishes, as well as the Imperiums' have become less and less frequent, and Commodore Nova finds herself in the rare lot of having little to contend with. Perhaps a vacation is in order. From a galactic standpoint, the universe seems at peace. But this is merely the calm before the storm, and once again she will rise to the call of war...

My opinion was stated at the TMF, but a thought just occured to me, and a strange one at that: She would look awesome in a Zeon Admiral's outfit.

>.>

I've got Gundam on the brain...on the braaaaiiiin.....

@ HDS- I don't know who that is, but if she wears a military uniform, give me some pictures and I'll draw Nova in them.

@ pantyhosetickle- What do you mean? Did I ever leave? Unless you mean that I'm uploading more art. But I've been doing that, albeit not recently, since I've been busy.

But thank you anyway. ^^

He, actually. It was more of a crazy thought, but if you want to to try it, I'll throw up a few links. Sadly, there are few pictures of very good detail, all of the important but minor character Admiral Delaz, but there are three that can be taken together to form a more complete view.

First, this rather smallish full body shot. http://www.gundamofficial.com/worlds/uc/0083/characters/chara_delaz.html

Next, a detail of chest up. http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery...ille+Delaz+(Gundam+0083).jpg&gwp=8&sbid=lc02a

And one of a cosplay outfit that has a better view of the insignai on the left portion of the chest (Bottom pic). http://www.faerie-fingers.com/index.php?page=portfolio&portid=51

There you have it. Make use of it if the urge hits you, eh?

Yes, yes, this is the kind of look I'm going for the the miltary garb for the series. I'm particularly partial to double-breasted coats and colars like that.

Oh, I was wondering, since I don't know, do you know what those shoulder things are called? The ones I added to Nova and the one this guy has? I'm trying to look it up, but I can't seem to track what they are called or if theres a difference between ones with tassles or not. I thought maybe you would know.

Hmm....apparently they are called epaulets (Shoulder epaulets to be specific), and I was unable to find any special name for the ones with tassles.

I'm conflicted. On the one hand you found the name. On the other, you failed. I'm not sure whether to praise or condemn you. Whether to give you a pat on the back and a "well done, old man" or laugh at you insanely and calling further attention to your shortcoming and failure....

What do you think I should do? 😛

Seriously though, thank you, my friend.

Its something I needed to know. I can't just keep calling them "those things on their shoulders" 😛

*Walks into the dusty castle and decides to bring some life back into it*
Actually, I did some checking, and I don't think there's a word for epaulettes other than epaulettes, no matter if they have fringes or not 🙂

I'll have you know my castle is VERY clean! Someone in my position and fame shouldn't be living in filth! Plus, with three beautiful brides, theres no way one can get away with living like a slob! 😀 😛

As for epaulettes, its good, for me at least, thats theres only one word. It makes having to find one more appropriate less of a trouble.

You bump this thread at an interesting time. I'm going to have an update soon.

Ah, cool. *Goes and picks a choice seat waiting for the update*
As for the dusty part, you might want to check out the west tower. That's how I got in. Your servants are a little slow to clean up there 😛

Not true. I'm pretty meticulous. We all are.

The only place thats dirty is the dungeon, and that has to be like that to demoralize the prisoners and make them vomit bile, and such.

True. I guess it wouldn't work if the dungeon looked like the Presidential Suite at the Bellagio.

We do have special rooms where we place princes and kings and influential leaders. We make every attempt to get the information out of them through vice and seduction while providing them luxurious comfort and all the amenities. My brides three really enjoy torturing and breaking them that way.

Some are really stubborn and strong-willed though. I deal with those ones personally, though it is far less pleasant and accomidating. 😀

I pride myself a gentleman though, and treat them with basic human respect, but if they don't give me what I want then I either kill them or torture them right there or send them to the dungeon with the other gibbering wrecks.

Otherwise, all interogations are conducted in a civialized manner for as long as possible. It's their choice really how it's going to be. If they want to be difficult thats not my problem.

Very true. Personally, it seems to me that with someone with the reputation of the great Count Dracula, you'd want to be as cooperative as possible. So are those who do cooperate set free, or do they stay to please your brides?

It depends. If they're just a peasant or servant with some dirt on one of my enemies then I'll let them live in exchange for being a spy.

If they are powerful people of influence, I brainwash them and make sure they're completely subserviant to me and then let them loose back into their towns.

If they can't be dominated so easily I either kill them or let them be tortured or let them rot in the dungeon until further review. If any of my brides particularly like the prisoner, I let them have it for their own whims and as their playthings. Sometimes this is how they've come to have their own handmaidens and servants, all of which they personally picked before they were abducted, seduced, and made loyal to us.

Some have even willingly given themselves to us, with little or no cajoling necessary. These are rare gems indeed, both as agents and servants, and well worth treating far better than the others.

All mortal enemies are slain as soon as they are no longer of any benefit. They're too unpredictable to be left alive.

Ok, that sounds like a pretty fair system. You keep the ones you're sure will have your back around you, and get rid of competition.

"Vampires only kill what they need to survive- one or two people a month- but now they will kill for revenge!"- The undertaker from Van Helsing

"Why can't they just leave us alone?! We never kill more than our fill! Unless there is strain, can they not say the same?!"- Vladislaus Dracula (after the death of Mariska)

It would seem the vampires in this movie just want balance, and anything that threatens that balance has to be destroyed. At least until you figure in Dracula's ambition.

Yeah. Aside from that, it basically seemed like "You leave us alone, we'll pretty much leave you alone unless we need to eat." Which I guess is a decent arrangement.
Oh, I meant to ask, have you seen either of the Underworld movies too?

That was a misquote there. Here's the actual one. I knew something was wrong with it the first time. I'm starting to slip. 😛

" if it's not the Christians, it's the Moors! Why can't they just leave us alone. We never kill more than our fill. And less than our share. Can they say the same?"

And no, I haven't seen any of them. To be honest, I'm not really into that whole vampire or goth thing. I just like Dracula as portrayed in this particular movie.

Oh ok. I'm not either, really. Dracula was portrayed really well in there, even if he didn't look quite like any of the previous versions in movies (e.g. Bela Lugosi, Gary Oldman, or Christopher Lee).

This quote is kind of tricky. The part about christians and moors isn't in the movie, which means that portion of the quote is either from the original script dialogue that never made it to the final version or it was made up.

I don't like the other Draculas. Greesy slicked back hair, old, ugly, etc. This one is more modern, younger, with long hair, no overly pale skin, more handsome features. He's contemporary, but in close enough keeping with the overall theme. Performance wise this version allowed us to see different things and personality traits that weren't in the originals.
