Saw The New Star Trek Movie

Holy Crap!!

We agree on a topic at last Ice! Tahdah! Lemme go check and see if red was right and hell actually HAS frozen over!

Saw it this afternoon. Q

Without giving too much away, what happened at the end that sucked? 😕

I knew my feet were cold for a reason. 😉

I've been saying I wasn't even going to go see it, but I did last night. *sigh* At least Patrick Stewart kept my interest through the end, if nothing else! 😱

On another note, my gf and I were the only girls in the the movie theater with about 30 men. What's up with that??? Don't women go to sci fi movies without guys? It was kinda odd.lol

Anyway, I don't really recommend it for the theater. Just wait for it to come out on video.

I gots a big pair of Southern bells...

Non well-behaved women end up in jail.

Was there *sniff* any particular *sniff* reason why you didn't like the film *sniff*, Joby? :dropatear

😛 hehehehehe 😛

Well, let's see now: There's Revenue Canada, Health and Welfare Canada...

ROFLMAO

Oh man, you and I are gonna be going at it fer decades, now. 😉

Cheesr...laughing too hard to spell it properly.

Only one of the worst moments in Star Trek history. 😡

Um, okay. Thanks for answering my question, I guess... 😛

Come on Vinnie!
Start your own quiz so we can take this over there! 😛

OK, yes...bite me! I cried in the movie! Big weepy tears! Those who have seen it will know when the tears started to flow!

*NEENER!* You're just jealous!

Joby

"Hey, Boss....you want I should break-a his legs, Boss?"

Well, it didn't suck as much as Star Wars...

And as one of the few females there Jobie, I agree, we must be in the minority...

And without giving it away, you read any article on the movie and guess the tragedy that awaits you. Or is that travesty? Take your pick. Still, it could have been worse.

Make it so...

Eh? Just dl it off of KaZaA. Thought it was great!!

No weepy tears and no travesties to speak of...

Were we all watching the same movie? or did somebody trick me, again, into watching "Dude, where's my car?"

Cheers.😀

Some friends of mine worked on it, and they said that there were 'script problems' - which is film industry code-talk for the actors, producers and writers fighting about what was going to happen, and then rewriting the script as they were shooting..

I think that showed in the movie. I didn't really like it, although it did have a few cool moments.

I thought the movie was ok. Deffinately not their best offering to date though. So far i'd rate the next generation series of movies in order of what i liked most to least like this....

Generations
First Contact
Nemesis
Insurrection

Still all in all the movie had some entertaining moments.

I too agree what happened in the end SUCKED! That and the fact that there again was NO "Q"!!! What the F%$K?!

Other than that, the movie was awesome! I saw it the night it opened with my gf shygirl, who up until then, was NOT a Trek Fan however she loved the flick!

I now have to turn her on to the series premier, "Encounter at Farpoint".
It took me about an hour to fill her in on the cast prior to going inside the theater.
Took me weeks to convince her to go in the first place!

While it was entertaining to a fan, I can hardly imagine somone new the series having any real interest in the characters or the plot.

On a side note, I saw the film with my brother in law. My sister despises Star Trek and most sci-fi films for that matter. He did, however, make a deal with her to get her to see Lord of the Rings...for each hour the movie lasted, he has to endure one movie of her choice. And partial hours counted...he's doomed to four really bad chick flicks in the coming year. I could almost pity him....😱

DES!!!!!!! Long time no see or chat. How've ya been? Hope all is well with you!

Thankfully having Patti aka shygirl see Nemesis, did not cost me a thing. She actually loved it.
I may have created a TNG fan throuh the back door and that is indeed very rare and amazing.

Things are good and busy, TTD. Thanks for asking. And since I've seen two flicks in 30 days (Harry Potter and the Star Trek one), I'm well on my way to beating my record...which was one movie in 2 years. Sad, but I'm rarely entertained by the film industry lately. And Star Wars...don't even get me started on what a major disappointment Lucas has become in his old age. Glad to hear you have a convert friend. We can always use more support among the female fans 🙂
