I loved this book and all the ones that came after. Scared the hell out of me when I was 8. The pictures were nightmare inducing.

Anyone remember these books?

I remember it. In fact, I tried to find it on the internet, and I could not for the life of me find it. Does anyone have this and is willing to sell it to me? That book is the absolute hizzity!

My favorite story was the one about the girl who got bit by a spider.

I've got a spooky tale.

"Once upon a time, the United States of America passed a law forbidding the manufacture and sale of porn in any form. The end!"

Sleep tight kiddies. (blows out candle)

I know what you mean. I managed to find the Treasury edition of the Scary Stories book at Borders' years back. It contains all three books together in a hardback version. The stories don't scare me as much nowadays, but the illustrations still bring back the memories of sleepless nights. Definately a good set. Journia, I'd suggest Amazon or a few online used book stories if you've haven't already.

The best thing I liked about these books was that they always ended with a set of comical stories, such as the ghost in the child's room who blows raspberries or the tale of the Slithery Dee, who came out of the sea. It ate all the others, but it didn't eat me. Yes, the Slithery Dee, who came out of the sea. It ate all the others, but it didn't eat...

*SLURP* XD

My current fave is a short story by Arthur C. Clarke called "A Walk in the Dark". (Hey, I'm a poet, and I know it. Hope I don't blow it!)
