Search function on the TMF.

I'm having a lot of trouble with this. I enter a user name for example and search threads, or enter an exact quote from a post if I remember it. When I click search I often get this.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /home/tforum/public_html/search.php on line 1012

It's random, sometimes it works, other times not. This has just been a problem the last two months or so. Is there a glitch on the forum, or my computer? 😕

It depends on the words in your search. If any of the words in your search are very common, you will get an out of memory error and a crash. There's not an easy way to tell you what to put; it is what it is, and I fear raising the memory limit too high, as we could then get excessive use just from searches.

I been having problems as well. I have even limited the searches to a user or a very specific forum and I get the same error or just never get a response.
