Publisher's Note:

“Secret Agent Sonya” first appeared in “Tales from the Asylum” magazine, Issue 13, November, 2000. She would appear again in TFTA 14, 18, and make a special guest appearance in the first official print “Yenny Comic.” She also would star in her very own e-comic entitled “Sonya’s Torment.”

Sonya was a instant hit with the Yenny fan base and despite or perhaps due to her short time in the spotlight she has become an icon in her own right.

When Ozzy came to me with the idea of bringing “Secret Agent Sonya” back to MTJ Publishing it was a very welcome surprise and one that I knew would please her legion of fans. However, a new artist would be selected to create her new and continuing adventures and that artist (hand picked by Ozzy himself) would be the one and only Bandito. Furthermore Ozzy would be adding a two page Sonya short to the first issue as well. Needless to say I was overjoyed.

So you have Bandito (creative, witty, gifted writer and artist), his partner in crime the lovely White Lotus (equally creative, witty and amazingly talented colorist) and the legendary “Ozzy." A virtual dream team….

This comic is going to blow you away! Count on it.

Just a quick note to say a HUGE thank you to Jim at MTJ, to the amazing Ozzy, to the fantastic Lotus...and to all you spies and spyettes out there.

I never thought when I first started posting tickle art on this forum that I would have a chance to work on something like this.

Thank you all for all your support, encouragement, and feedback.

Now stop reading,

And go get your spy on. 😛

Yikes!!! 16 bucks lol I hope its more navel and belly tickling than feet becasue I could careless about the feet no offense.... o well about to buy it lol

123kid: LMAO. Remember that this comic needs to be split 4 ways, and includes work from a professional comic artist that could spend his time on doing mainstream work. Hope the comic ended up being what you were looking for, and that you enjoyed it. Thanks for your support, and input.

buttontickler05: YAY! Thanks for the support, mate.

desenho2003: Well a fan of Sonya is a friend of mine. Hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks everyone for the support.

If you guys like this one, let us know and we'll seriously look into a sequel.

Story:

This is hilarious. I like the very conversational flow of the story. It has been plotted to comically tease a reader, which I find quite different. I’m left with no one to trust here, lol. Who’s gonna tickle who? No, there’s no way you can get away with it, but I had all the fun with the crazy interrogations and the clever detective journey here.

The Art:

After some transitions, Bandito is back to the cartoon style once again, but I have noticed significant change, the curves are even better! We know that any work always ascend, but this really marks style – one that works well for this funny plot, and some past drawings work well for another flavor (e.g. like the style for “Bounce Chix Origins”), where the women have been more anatomically conventional. Bandito always have that command in his style. In this comic, so many tickle elements and laughter have been brought cleverly to life, so action-packed. But hey, with all those sexy chicks and the cleavages, I was surprised by that burly male character!!! Hmmm, somehow I find it an exciting appearance here.

confused

I bought this comic and am kind of confused. It seems to stop or end half way into the plot and then go into advertisements for other comics. Did I get a bad download? Without giving away any plot details, I'll try to explain what I got.

After Sonya and her friend find out how to get to the mad scientist, it just goes straight to the old 2 page bonus comic, and then some ads for Bounce Chix, Tickling in Space, and Giganticklish.

I thought Sonya was going to actually go to the mad scientists compound and deal with him, but this never happens in the comic I got.

Also kind of surprised to see ads in a comic I paid for. I don't see why I am paying for ads. I see these ads all the time on the MTJ web page, so I don't need to see them in an actual comic that has nothing to do with the other comics.

Suffice to say I am disappointed with this..... if it's the full comic.

Hello,

As per the product description...

15 full comic pages + cover

That is what you purchased. You are not paying for ads. The ads are extra and do not count towards the 15 comic pages + cover.

There will be second issue in which the current story line will wrap up.

Thank you!

clarification

What I mean is, why are you putting ads inside the comic? They are already on your web page. It kind of ruins the comic and makes it feel partly like just another ad. I have not seen this done before in other comics. When people buy a comic, they want to see the comic, they don't want to have go look through more ads. Am I alone in feeling this way?

Also, I think the description of this comic is confusing. it says

" Now two beautiful spies must infiltrate the enemy hideout, and find some way to interrogate the bad guys before the countdown is over and they end up in the nefarious feathery clutches of merciless villains.".

In all fairness to people who see this and want to buy this comic, this never happens in the comic. It's only now we find out that there is a part 2, and have to buy that comic to see what is advertised as being in the first comic...seems kind of like I'm being strung along. $16 is already a pretty high price to pay for 1 comic.

The ads are at the back of the product and are easily skipped. They in no way take away from the product and based on feedback we receive in the form of sales, I have to conclude that some people find them of use.

The fact is that two beautiful spies do infiltrate the enemy hideout and they do find a way to interrogate a couple of bad guys. So your criticism is not valid.

Furthermore the comic has “#1” in the title, which suggests that there will be more than one issue. I don't see this as misleading.

$16 is already a pretty high price to pay for 1 comic.

All I can say about the price is that our prices have always been based upon the work/cost of the publication and the projected sales rate. We cater to a niche market and the prices reflect that.

I’m sorry if the comic did not meet your expectations. If you ever have a question about any of our publications please feel free to drop me a PM here at the TMF and I’ll be happy to help.

Thank you!

Thanks so much for the support. Both for buying Secret Agent Sonya, and also for posting your concerns.

I really appreciate you taking the time, and am truthfully very flattered by the comments. It's so awesome that you were enjoying Sonya so much that you didn't want it to end. It means I've done my job. If you thought the art was crap, or the writing was terrible, or the tickling was just plain lame...then you would have been glad when it all ended. LMAO. XD

You brought up a couple concerns that I thought I would quickly address, although I thought Jim did fantastic job already.

The ads: well - ads are in a TON of mainstream comics, and the truth is that it gives folks, myself included, another chance to promote their work. You certainly aren't "paying" for them. Think of them as free tickle art. if you don't want to dwell on them, ya sure don't have to.

The cost of the comic: I could justify at great length why we chose to price Sonya at $16. But I won't. I don't need to. I apologize that you felt like you didn't get enough bang for your buck. But I stand firmly behind the comic, and all of the work I've put out there.

The cliffhanger ending: I can definitely understand how the end left ya hanging. It was supposed to. Sonya's encounter with LeBoom will be about 15 pages long, and will involve her being tickled over her entire body. She will finally lose that teeny top of hers...she will finally get tickled on those sexy feet of hers. I couldn't put it into one comic. It would have taken forever to finish (over 2 years), and would have cost way too much. At the end of the day a good comic SHOULD leave you wanting to see more. So should MOST good fiction.

I'm very flattered that you enjoyed Sonya so much that you didn't want her adventure to end. I'll certainly understand if you don't buy part 2 because of your frustration. And I'm sorry that you were frustrated in the first place. I'll definitely take your feedback under advisement for future projects.

Thanks again for taking the time.

Cheers,

B

question

Are you saying part 2 won't be available for another year? i'm not following this logic.

And seriously....I did buy the first part. I am a paying customer. The sarcastic comments are not necessary or appreciated. You wouldn't talk to a real customer like that, would you?

I wasn't just criticizing the comic for the heck of it. Sonya and Yenny are by far my favourite characters, and I've paid for a lot of their comics in the past.

I honestly felt the ad is misleading. That was my honest opinion. I honestly feel the included ads distract from the toon. I'm sorry you don't like to hear this, no one likes to hear criticism, but no one bats a thousand. This particular toon didn't cut it for me, I bought it from you based on your ad, I'm allowed to express an opinion.

Hey, if I'm the only person out here who expected this to be a complete toon with all the things described in your ad, I'll shut up. Deal?

No no no, my friend. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic at all. You totally misinterpreted my last comment.

I really DO appreciate your input, I really DO thank you for spending your hard earned cash on one of my comics, and I really DO apologize that you are frustrated. Please don't assume the worst. I promise I'm not arguing with you here.

Unfortunately yes. Sonya II will probably take me about a year. I don't do this full time or anything. I spend my nights and weekends creating these comics. And I'm sad to say that they take me a long LONG time to create.

You are a real customer. I have absolutely NO negativity towards you. Any hostility you feel is coming from inside you. I honestly and sincerely appreciate your business, AND your input. I apologize if I came across as sarcastic to you. I wasn't being sarcastic at all.

That's awesome. Sonya and Yenny are both wonderful characters, and their comics are among my favorites. Ozzy is the bomb. Trust me, amigo...your feedback is appreciated. Please stop taking things the wrong way.

I understand that. And I apologize that you found the ad to be misleading. The last thing I wanted to do was create a frustrating situation for all the Sonya fans.

So please accept my apology that this comic did not cut it for you. Your opinion is appreciated, and I will take all of this to heart so that my future projects can hopefully avoid this same situation. Thank you.

Hey, if I'm the only person out here who expected this to be a complete toon with all the things described in your ad, I'll shut up. Deal?

Shy...I never wanted you to shut up. I have no problems with you. I never have. Your critique is valued and respected. I've apologized for your frustration. And I will do my darndest to be less frustrating in the future.

I'm not sure what else I can say. Thank you again for making your concerns known, and thank you again for your support.

Without knowing the mistakes I've made...it would be impossible for me to improve in the future.

So please take my comments for what they are, and not assume the worst. I honestly appreciate the input.

Take care, and I hope to knock your socks off with my next comic.

Sincerely,

B

ok, i'll keep this short as this thread seems to have gotten off track due to miscommunications. your response is fair, it seems to me.

Thanks, amigo. Sorry again for the miscommunications, and I'll really pay attention to my ads in the future to make sure they don't mislead anyone or anything like that.

Take care,

B
