I know there is alot of speculation as to whether Shakira is ticklish. Of course, our members want to know since she is a very beautiful woman.
However, recently, Shakira has been quoted as saying that the Israelis were all pigs in an interview. I cannot name the interview since I heard it from what I believe to be a reliable source. Shakira is part Lebanese and there is a history of anti-semetism and anti-Israeli sentiment from the Lebanese. I do not mean to sterotype all Lebanese people but she, like many, had possibly grown up in that racist environment and could be a product of this upbringing.

The bottom line is that these kind of remarks from a woman makes her ugly and undesireable. It also makes her dangerous since she is a high profile figure in the music world.

In my opinion, this forum shouldn't discuss her ticklishness (like in the Celebrities section) anymore than any other pubic bigots and racists. Imagine if a thread began as to the ticklishness of the Grand Dragon of the KKK. I know that it can be explained as in the punishment aspect. But to me, tickling is erotic, and I would NEVER want this woman near me, let alone in my bed.

I totally agree, Max! That kind of garbage makes ANYONE ugly and undesireable. She shouldn't be given recognition and attention unless it's to show her the error of her ways...and NOT by something fun like tickling.

I'd recommend a bit of reading on snopes.com for anyone who spends time on the Internet. There's a lot of garbage out there, and the Mikkelsons do a great job of researching and exploding myths.

Meanwhile, I shall continue to ogle Shakira with a clear conscience. Especially in that "Whenever, Wherever" video. Phwoar.

You didn't understand the point. My point was not to make HER crushed that we are not talking about her. It's that we do not talk about anyone who is a bigot or a racist. This is only being respectful to those in our community who would be offended by such remarks.

I could care less what she thinks. But who wants to give any attention towards people like that. There are plenty of desireable women in the media that our attention could focus on.

If what Shem says is true then I feel better. I also know a bit about the media and if she did say something like that she is a valuable enough asset to her label and they would do any and all to cover up this faux pas (even saying it is an urban legend). So whether it's an urban legend or not, I am going to steer clear. I hope I am wrong.
