I thought it was more to do with representing the poor, suffering people of Columbia where she's from originally. Some are so below the poverty line they couldn't afford shoes so she goes barefoot to represent this or something. I heard she did charity work for these people and donated a lot of shoes for people to wear.

Who cares what her reasoning for being barefoot is? Whether it's sexual, or because of her own personal comfort, or if she's making a statement about her fellow countrymen...either way, she's still a phenomenal performer with a beautiful voice and an equally aesthetically pleasing figure...
