I've been away for a bit, and alot of things have happened in the past 3 or 4 months (has it really been that long?) ...Anyhow, I really missed you guys, and you can bet yer' sorry asses that im back with a vengeance. (kidding about the sorry asses part of course)😀 ...I see the forum has changed quite a bit, and there have been many new regular (VERY regular, if you catch my drift) posters emerge from the shadows. I look forward to getting back in "the loop"....now, if I can be serious for a moment, I actually have a question. My wife and I have moved back to Texas (well, I guess you could say I did, because she has never lived here) due to family issues...anyway, she has been giving me signals lately that she wants to have children...and that is something that I know for a fact that I am not ready for. I am a little worried though, that when I explain this to her, she might either take it the wrong way, or just think that I am being selfish and inconsiderate. Any tips on how to break this to her? I just think that I am too young to be making this kind of a commitment (as far as kids go)....I lack life experience, therefore I don't think that I am ready to be a father. Im just not ready for the responsibility....Any tips would be great. ...It's great to be back! Love you guys!

As for the child thing....wow...big question for your first day back! I waited too long, and my wife became unable to have kids. We then waited ANOTHER period of time and then adopted. All I can say is I wish we had done this long ago. Tough times, but HUGE rewards that are intangible and unexplainable until you experience them. Don't overthink it is my advice. Perhaps you should trust your wife on this topic. Btw, don't think you;re NOT ready. You're NEVER ready, but somehow it will work out great...lol. If you have kids you can write back on the topic after a few months and laugh at your current perspective. Weird...but true. Q

Here I am at age 49 with a 4 y/o son! Q is right...you are NEVER ready....Take some time to think things through. Make sure you are financially stable. (not rich, just not in over your head) and then talk it over with her..get her feelings and give feedback.

welcome back Krokus!! long time no hear from. as for the "kid" situation. i dont have kids myself, but my only piece of advice is, have them when you are at least kind of ready. any MALE can produce a child, but it takes a MAN to be a father to the kid. i dont think you can ever be fully ready, but if you feel you might be able to handle it, go ahead and become a father. watching a kid grow up is probably one of the most wonderful things that can ever happen to a person.
