The next day, a very tired Ross, Steve, and Fritz , rode in Steve's SUV to the oil fields. After that, they returned to the office to discuss the possible investors entry into the oil and gas program.
The group was twenty investors, at an average of $100, 000 each. Net investment about two million dollars.
The three men, Ross , Steve and Fritz, knew that even if half the people invested, a one million dollar net investment would be fine.
By the end of the second day, Ross seemed almost. antsy to go home.
Fritz talked to him about it.
"Ross, no one is going to hold your piece from you if you have to go back to New York and buy that company. You did what you had to down here. You can get out of here tonight. Go examine and buy your company, and whatever happens, we will talk on the phone, and email" Fritz said.
"Thanks, buddy, I'm going to go home tonight then. Tim said he can only delay this company buy for five days to a week. I had his blessing to leave to come down here for the show, on the understanding that I come back after three days max so he and I can decide on the company" Ross said.
Ross went back to his hotel, made a late night flight out of OKC, then called Tim to let Tim know that Ross would be home the next day, and then called Kayley to let her know Ross would be home that night.
"I will be home early tomorrow morning. I did what I had to down here. If someone slips into bed with you early in the morning, know it will not be an attacker" Ross said.
"Okay, see you tomorrow morning" Kayley said.
Ross made an 11 pm flight,. changed planes in Dalles, and landed at JFK at 4 am, getting home at 430. He threw off his clothes, climbed into bed, and Kayley stirred.
"Is that my masher?" Kayley joked.
"It is your exhausted partner. I'm going to sleep until noon, and then go into the office, and meet Tim " Ross said.
Kayley turned over and kissed Ross.
"We will talk about the trip to OKC later, Kale, I cant keep my eyes open" Ross said.
At nine Ross got his cell phone, and called Vic, and Tim
"I will be in the office at noon. I have to rest for a bit, got home at 4 am, can you meet for dinner Tim?" Ross asked.
"Either dinner or if not definitely sometime tomorrow. I'm glad your home, another less than 24 hours wont make a difference, get some rest" Tim said.
Ross staggered into the office at 1 pm. "I'm here just to be seen. No calls put through unless it is from you all know who. I might just shuffle papers and sleep on the couch all day. I know it is unprofessional to show up in the office and sleep, and that I should have stayed home, but I am so tired from that trip, and having to rush home to talk to Tim, that I simply dont give a fuck!" Ross said.
Ross was so tired that he basically sat at his desk shuffling papers for a couple of hours, and slept some. At Five Tim called him.
"Go home, I know you're beat. Get a good night's sleep so we can discuss this when your mind is clear. We will meet for either breakfast or lunch tomorrow. I will text you in the morning" Tim said,.
"Thanks, buddy" Ross said.
Ross called an Uber and then called Kayley.
"I'm coming home, Tim did not want to see me until I was rested. I will be home by six six thirty, what we do for dinner is your choice" Ross said.
When Ross got home in his Uber, Kayley took a look at him, and started to say something.
"Kale please dont. I barely worked today. I did not go in until 1, and slept half the time on the couch. I was supposed to meet Tim for dinner, but we canceled until tomorrow. What do you want to do for dinner?" Ross asked.
"Italian food if you can keep your eyes open" Kayley said.
"Let me take a shower and change. I'm fine to go out for an hour" Ross said.
Ross jumped into a semi cold shower, threw on leans, and the couple went out.
"Was running down there worth it, especially with the time frame on this company buy with Tim?" Kayley asked.
"Kale, you know that I never know. We took 20 investors to the show, and if ten sign up, we will be lucky. I'm home now, Fritz and Steve will take care of this from down there. They will be honest with me. I have to rest up, and then decide with Tim whether or not we buy a company tomorrow" Ross said.
The couple finished dinner Ross and Kayley kissed each other goodnight, and went to sleep by ten pm.
The next morning, after an unusual nine hours of sleep for him, Ross felt strong as a bull, got up, took a shower, put on a sport jacket and slacks, kissed Kayley goodbye, and got to the office by eight am.
"Tim, I'm in, what time do you want to meet for lunch"
"Noon, I will pick the place. Good job, oil and gas and marketing mogul. You are working two jobs with running a major marketing company, and doing both of them well" Tim joked.
When Tim and Ross got to the lunch meeting, after they said their hellos, they got down to business.

"Okay, marketing guru. You have the numbers, you've read them, what is your feeling" Tim asked.
"I told you, it's fifty fifty,. Its a struggling company with a lot of debt, and I'm not sure if it has enough income or capital to make sense. I'm definitely going to keep it separate from RossShell. It is not entirely my decision, as we and whoever else you say, will or would,be partners. You have a voice, tell me what you think" Ross said.
"We can roll the dice, and take it as a tax write off. I know that you would have to hire a supervisor for it because of RossShell and the oil,, and so I can run my company" Tim said.
"Would you be up for having some fun, and not letting it get to us if it tanks?" Ross asked.
"Sure, buy it. What is big business for. Try to talk then down, get it for as low as we can, and we split the cost 50-50 and the financial risk" Tim said.
"Okay, when I get back to the office, I will call the right people, set it up, call you to tell you the final price, and then we put the money in and I find a manager for it" Ross said.
When Ross got back to the office, ha called the company's attorney, and talked to him./
"Mister Tim Patrick and me are willing to make the buy, but I think we need to meet with you to discuss price. Can you meet tomorrow?" Ross asked.
"Yes, of course, 10 am your office" The lawyer said.
The next morning, Ross and the lawyer met at Ross's office.
"Tim and me were discussing the situation. We think that ten million is a bit too high considering the company's situation. How much would you and this company's owner be willing to negotiate and lower the price?" Ross asked.
"Make me an offer " The attorney said
"Seven million or seven five hundred thousand" Ross said.
"Make it eight cash and we sign in a day or two and we can shake hands and have a deal" The lawyer said.
"Done at eight mil" Ross said, shaking the lawyer's hand./
Then Ross said.
"Give me 24 to 48 hours to get the money together, call my partner, and we will sign" Ross said.
"Fine" The attorney said.
When the attorney left, Ross called Tim,.
"I offered seven mil, but he would not take that. I upped to eight, and he said fine. I need four mil from you" Ross said.
"You will have it tomorrow morning, best friend, now get back to work! " Tim joked.
The rest of that day, Ross did mundane work as all of his monthly campaigns were done , left the office at five, and went home.
"What did you do today?" Kayley asked.
"Tim and me bought a company at eight mll, four mil each. I will try to turn it around, and not obsess if I cannot and just take it as a tax writeoff if it tanks. The big business men want to have a little fun" Ross said.
Kayley kissed Ross. "Perfectly okay, if the big businessmen want to have fun go for it. As long as you dont obsess if it does not go your way" Kayley said.
"Kale, too much is going right between me getting RossShell back, the oil and gas, and such, for me to obsess. I will do the buy, hire a manager, keep it separate, and see" Ross said.
Two days later, Ross and Tim appeared at the signing, gave the lawyer a cashier's check for eight million, took over the company, and then the next day, Ross hired an overseer, manager to run the company, so Ross could concentrate on RossShell and the oil and gas.
Would this "Small buy" for Ross and Tim work out? What would happen?
That would be seen.
