Looks like Gumroad just outlawed all porn of any kind (even drawn artwork of it) on their website. Their purging of anything naughty on their website has already begun.

Why is this becoming more and more of a thing on the net I wonder? 🙁

Companies don't like having their brand associated with porn so they pull ad revenue and put social media companies in a bind. As if seeing an ad for oreos next to a blow job would stop me from purchasing them lol.

I just check out their website, and they use a subscription-based model. If that's the case, they don't need to use ads to bring in extra money, because the cut they get from the subscriptions is already lucrative. Often times, when a platform uses ads, its for data-mining purposes, and as long as people keep using it, they'll keep getting abused by it. Although open-source software usually doesn't have problems like this, mainly because everyone can see the code and know what it's doing, the downside is they aren't backed by a corporation who has money for infastructure, self-promotion, etc, so therefore it becomes unheard of and struggles to compete with it's proprietary counterparts.
