After Joan told Ross what had happened, and Ross saw the bruises,. Joan again asked to speak to Kayley alone.
Kayley and Joan went back into Joan;'s office, and then Joan said.
"Ross, I strongly suggest that you call your lawyer, or an attorney. Kayley is very upset, and the police have been called. They are coming here. I am going to report to them what I saw on Kayley's body,. According to the officer I spoke to, the police are being sent here to arrest you, Ross. You will not be permitted to talk to Kayley any further until you are arrested, and processed" Joan said.
Ross, shaking, in disbelief, decided to call Alan Hell. "Alan, please send a criminal attorney to Kayley's school. There is a situation going on here which I will explain to you later. I am about to be arrested on suspicion of physical spousal abuse of Kayley with visible evidence. " Ross said, his voice shaking.
"I'm so sorry to hear that, Ross. I am sending a criminal attorney from my office now. We will talk about this later. I sincerely hope for both yours and Kayley's sake that this is just a huge misunderstanding" Alan said.
"Of course it is a huge misunderstanding, Alan. I cant say anymore because I am at Kayley's school and waiting to be arrested" Ross said.
"Okay, when the lawyer comes, go with them, and follow what they say. When they book you, bail will immediately be posted, and you will get out, and then we will talk further" Alan said.
"Of course, and thanks" Ross said.
A cop then arrived. "Ross, I am here with instructions to arrest you on the charge of physical abuse of your wife Kayley, with statements regarding visible evidence from the school principal and the school nurse. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law, you have the right to speak to an attorney, and have that attorney present during any questioning,. If you so desire, and cannot afford one, one will be appointed for you without charge before questioning" The officer said.
Alan Hell then appeared. "My name is Alan Hell. I am lead attorney in the firm of Alan Hell and associates. This is my associate, criminal attorney Patrick Timmins. We will be accompanying Ross to the station, and will be present upon any questioning you give to him" Alan Hell said.
The cop sighed, and then said to all three men. "Okay, let's go down to the station with all of you. You can talk to your client in a private room, and then we will all talk about what occurred between Kayley and Ross during the night in question" The cop said.
The men rode down to the station in the police car in silence, with the cop, and Pat Timmins in the front, and Alan and Ross in the back.
Alan quietly said to Ross. "Ross, we all know that you can talk out of turn. You know, and I know that this is a misunderstanding. Please, I cannot stress this enough, please do not say anything. This is a very, very serious situation. This is not some business deal which you can say "Oh I did not mean to say X, and then take it back. A police reporter, and a report sent to a court, will record every word you say. If you say the wrong, thing, it could be much worse for you than just a misunderstanding about abuse " Alan said.
"Is Kayley okay? Where is Kayley?" Ross asked.
"Ross, for the time being, you need to understand that no one will communicate with either you or anyone you know about Kayley. I will try to find out, but please, for now, do not let your mind run away. Please just focus on getting through the situation at the police station, getting bailed out, and then we can talk, and I can try to find everything out, if they will let me" Alan said.
As Ross sat in the car on the way to the station, Ross began to think of "What did it all mean?" The battles with Kayley, all of the bickering, and back and forth, and such about RossShell.
Even if Ross came out of this, with no criminal charge, a suspended criminal charge, a misdemeanor with no jail time, or whatever. If Ross could not resolve it with Kayley , nothing else seemed to matter.
If Kayley was that upset, why did she not tell the school she was sick, and had to go home, then berate Ross to come home, and why had they not both gone to their pwn personal doctor, and a discussion had with him, where the matter could have remained private?
So many questions about why both Ross and Kayley did certain things, for them both to end up in what might become the end of everything for both of them, or at least, their three decade union?
Ross also wondered, what was Kayley thinking?
Ross did not know when, if, or in what setting, he could or would ever talk to her about it.
It all seemed like thirty years of history were about to be sucked down a black hole.
Ross had pulled off miracles or major longshots before
Could some light be shed to possibly turn this whole horrible situation around?
That would all be seen.
