Marcia Wallace, actress who voiced Edna Krabappel died.

Although she was on the Simpsons much longer, I believe she'll be most regarded for her role on the Bob Newhart show as the affable receptionist Carol Kester, for many reasons I hope others will list.

I didn't realize how many different shows she appeared on. I remember her well for her many appearances on "The Match Game".

I didn't want to say it, but I was thinking the same thing. I know they retired the 'Troy McClure' character after Phil Hartman died. If it is Edna, I hope they do her justice. She really is a beloved Simpson character.

Alright. It turns out that 'Edna Krabappel's' character is going to be retired and her death wasn't actually planned. I believe a lot of people thought it was, but it turns out that isn't correct. I may have stopped watching the Simpsons a while ago but it doesn't matter. I feel like a part of my childhood just died! 🙁
Rest in peace Marcia Wallace, it doesn't matter which role or roles you were best remembered for, there will be people everywhere who will miss you! 🙁

Although I don't watch The Simpsons, I do remember her from The Bob Newhart Show.
