Continuing with my string of hip hop related posts I wanted to bring up Slaughterhouse as they have just released their debut "Welcome to Our House" on Shady Records.
I purchased the self titled Slaughterhouse album back in 2009 and followed with their EP in 2010 which were both dope albums.
However, since the group has signed to Shady Records there has been a lot of controversy around them and whether or not they are up there with the lyrical giants. Eminem, as anyone who follows hip hop knows, is a very technical rapper and looks for technical skills when signing a potential artist. I recently heard them interviewed on Sway in the Morning on Shade 45 on how they keep there group dynamic together, as Sway feels each of them are at the top of their game as solo artists.
Personally, I think this group is the best out there for mainstream hip hop. It still blows my mind that Joe Budden can spit bars and SERIOUS bars at that. And to think I only thought of him as "Pump pump pump it up".
As I have learned there are a lot of hip hop heads in this forum. I open the discussion to you: Are Royce Da 5'9, Joe Budden, Crooked I, and Joell Ortiz lyrical giants in 2012? AKA Dope or Whack?
