Slow TMF load times - animated gifs

Hey, does anyone else think it's a little annoying to have the pages here load so slowly initially while all the animated gifs load? I actually have a really fast connection, and it takes about 10 seconds for the gifs to all load and each page is pretty unresponsive until they do.

Maybe I'm out of line, but I think they are pretty unnecessary.

Are you referring to the ads to the left?

Yes they are unnecessary except for one small thing. Without them there would be no forum. They pay for it to be here for you to enjoy for free.

Slow load times are annoying. And I regret the wasted seconds on each page that you view, but there is little I can do about that, as the ads are designed by those who pay for them, and they want animates over static.

Im glad to hear someone with a fast connection is having this phenomenon as well. I'm on dial up, so slow load times comes with the territory, but I have noticed things have been dragging since the introduction of the new Clips4sale contraption at the top of the page has really slowed things down for me.

I've got a medium fast internet connection, and I've had no problems.

Same here. Even on my phones 3g connection, the pages load just fine.

I have a reasonably fast connection and I have noticed that since the most recent layout was introduced it loads significantly slower. I wonder if fewer could be displayed per page?

I think the issue started when Clips4Sale changed their banner, and all their little GIF previews loaded. Its not a hugely noticeable issue, but it happens.
