it has come to my attention lately that i am not universaly loved here! talk about a shock!
seriously though, i have been informed that i have been the topic of behind the sceen discussions, and that friends of mine have had to defend me. this saddens me.
so i am asking for all the tmf member to take this opportunity to say what they dislike about me, or what they like about me (that will be short list i'm sure!).
my only request is that it be done in a civil manor, w/o insults, or attack. we all know the difference.
i like many others here have had a rough time over the last year, and things are only going to get worse. i'm not asking for sympathy, nor understanding even, as we all have our own problems, and you don't want to hear mine. sufice to say, i have recognised my short temperedness here, and on the amt site. i am looking honesty, please.
as i say to my kids, "if i don't know what's wrong, i can't fix it".

What you're interpreting as people "having a problem with ya" is nothing more than that age old thing known as "not everybody clicks." Online, it's hard often hard with any type of extreme personality to come across as easily as a more soft-mannered one.

For those of us who can read between the lines, we see a man who has been hurt in a relationship, but loves his kids beyond measure. He's got some emotional issues bearing down that make him vent in places here like the TMF where not everybody is aware of what's going on behind the scenes. You're an intense fella, Steve. That's good! I think you just might want to do what I try (not very successfully at times) to do. Remember that folks get squicked when a very blatant opinion is expressed without giving much leeway to the others. I like you, and yet you rub me wrong some times. ((Not in a tickly way, Sir!) You may just want to let more of your offline self come on here, be it good or not....then folks can take it all in and not be put out by your intensity.

You're a good guy who doesn't always get his thoughts across in the kindest of ways. And that squicks folks. (Unsolicited advice following) We all have preferences....just try be a bit nicer to the folks who disagree. To be a happier person you should be able to Live (your own life and do what you like ) and let live (let others do what they like) without having it all get mixed up in a blender as if there is only one way of living life.

I remember when I first met you online back about 4 years ago. You sent me a picture of you in a restaurant and had a smile on your face from ear to ear with a huge plateful of food in front of you. I bet if I looked around the restaurant I would see many other smiles and many other dishes. Because they ordered different than you, did you walk over and ask why they didn't order what you did ? I think not....

I don't think one should have to change who or what he is, in order to be liked or appriciated, because if they don't like you for who you are on the inside, they are not really worth being friends with, in the 1st place.

Like I said Steve, be who you are and don't worry about trying to please the masses. Work on what makes you, as a person happy.
