My local TV News station has a local consumer watch-dog group known as The Investigators who expose, what they claim, are shady tactics that many business employs, from work that is not paid for, to shoddy merchendise, as well as "scams and cons".
They recently did a segment that focused on a home-remodling firm that allegedly did real shoddy work and refused to honor contracts (but they never showed an example of the "shoddy work"
But what they DID NOT tell you, and I did not find this out until a while later, was that one of the stations main sponsors was a competitor of the company that was "exposed".
The corporate sponsor allegedly ordered the station manager to run a false story that was meant to dis-credit his competitor, or he would "take his business and advertising dollars elsewhere".
The Judge who heard the case found "The Investigators" guilty of reporting false information or as the Judge put it "public deception in the name of profit".
At last report, the FCC is conducting their own "investigation" and state if the situation warrents, their broadcasting license will be revoked.
The TV network that employes "The Investigators" claim they stand by the story and the accuracy of their claims and will appeal.
That has me wondering "Who is investigating "The Investigators"?
