I know Jim's an astronomy geek, but these pics are good enough for us non-scientific types who think an eclipse is the sun being eaten by the sky-dragon.

Biggles

From outback towns to the major cities, across Australia the eclipse of the sun could be seen yesterday. These images capture the moment - the 26-second-long full eclipse in country locations, the partial eclipse in the metropolises.

Beautiful sight, Biggles! We had a total eclipse here 3 years ago. It was quite spooky when all the birds suddenly stopped to sing, and it became dark around noon! I can imagine our ancestors being VERY afraid when this happened... :scared:

Nice!!

Great shots....gotta love it when the universe plays "peek-a-boo"! Q

WOW!

Thanks for posting these, Biggles, I really enjoyed them. Very talented photography. 🙂

I love eclipses! I believe this one could only be seen in Australia and Africa, but I hope we'll be able to see one soon here in America. Thanks for the lovely pics, Biggles! Quite a sight. 😀

These are beautiful Biggles I don't think I've ever saw an eclipse. I love looking at the stars though. The great wonders of God!

Awesome! Great photography who ever took these, thanks for posting these they are wonderful to look at. I am interested astronomy myself. Kandy

Great shots, biggles. In 1994,we had an eclipse while I was on a site.
One guy actually made the rounds with a welder's hood so interested parties could have a peek.

Excellent photos!

Thanks for posting them.

"...and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnn".

I remember the '94 eclipse. one of the maintenance guys at work gave me a pair of his welding goggles to use. it was incredible! so spooky.

you mean it isn't the sky dragon's doing? :wow:
