Someone posted a list of ALL known fetishes a while back?

This website is based off of a book, I remember reading part of this book, it has some truly disgusting shit in there. All I remember of what they said about tickling was a description of how certain ancient cultures used it in sexual practice. It speaks of an old tribe reffered to in a book called "The Sacred Fire", they would tickle women until they passed out to appease gods of fertility. It also talks about another tribe that had armpit tickling involved in wedding ceremonies. My memory on it's a little fuzzy, but that's about the gist of it. I remember seeing this book at Tower Records and also at Barnes and Nobles.

Actually, that thread was asking what other fetishes TMF members had. I don't recall the list being posted there...though I could have missed it. That thread was going back around May as I recall.

Not that you have a moral obligation to expose yourself to every kind of perversion under the sun, of course, but greater tolerance never hurts.

There are many kinds of fetishes that are acceptable to me. I not only tolerate them, I like or even love some of them! Whatever consenting adults do to each other is none of my business. What is sick to me may not be to another person, and vice versa. I try to be relaxed and open-minded, even if I disagree. If you got the wrong impression, I'm sorry. Don't worry and be happy! 🙂

I'm afraid you misunderstand my position on this. I haven't any intolerance to unusual fetishes. I only have a disgust towards things that cause great bodily and psycological harm to someone such as amputation and pedophilia. Things that are even worse then this are discussed at great length and detail in this book. I'm not saying that everyone who would buy or read this book is a sicko. It is educational and does have a morbid fascination to it. When I said that there was "disgusting shit" in the reading material it was as much to warn people who might not have the stomach for it as it was to mereley state my opinion. Also there is a line between fetishism and paraphilia. This book tends to deal with the latter more. I hope this clears up any failure to communicate. 🙂

The aforementioned "Encyclopedia of Unusual Sex Practices" is available in bookstores. I bought it a long time ago in a completely vanilla bookstore. It's guaranteed to have the definition for stuff you're not into. It IS an encyclopedia, after all.

Starfires, amk715 and 46and2: I also agree with you guys that we need to keep an open mind about other people's desires.
None of us choose to have the desires we have (at least that's what I think), and we need to understand that before passing judgement.

But what about pedophiles, you might ask... Yes I hate child molesters as much as everyone does and think they should rot in hell, but maybe we should condemn the act and not the feeling.

It's so complicated, and sometimes I ask why God (or whoever is out there) creates such complicated situations.
