Something that's always vexed me...

Does anyone here have any theories as to why on earth foot-tickling is so generally unaccepted in the regular foot fetish community? It's a tactile activity that involves fun, laughter and touching the foot...you'd think they'd be all over it. If you frequent the Mousepad forum site like I do, have you ever noticed that tickle pics seem merely tolerated? I've even seen some inadvertantly start flame threads, and the praise replies sound reluctant, like "athough I'm not into tickling, this pic is pretty good." It's got the the same disclaiming air of a homophobe saying to his best friend "I'm not gay or anything, but I really love you man!"

This has probably been brought up before, but has anyone got an idea why tickling is so shunned?

I've noticed that too.

Everybody's tastes are different. What a boring world it would be if everyone felt the same way about everything. I have both a foot fetish and a love for tickling, and can seperate or merge the two at will. So a picture of just feet can grab my attention, or feet combined with tickling, or tickling with no feet in the pic at all. Hell, a pic of Drew Barrymore in a tight dress is enough to satisfy my mind sometimes. Either way, I'm a happy camper 😛

Your point does swing both ways though, I've noticed that a lot of 'ticklephiles' seem to get a little.....annoyed, at times, with topics revolving around feet exclusively.

I too have both a foot fetish and tickling fetish but I have noticed what you say. Many foot fetish sites reluctantly acknowledge tickling and stick mainly to foot worship, trampling, etc. FMconcepts is a notable exception to that though they don't have as much tickling as they use to.

I do have theory as to why this is so. I think its mainly in regards to tickling itself. I've heard about submissives who get whipped, even on their feet, and not really be bugged too much but if you start tickling them they break in a few minutes. I think many people feel weak, both men and women, when they are tickled and are almost embarrased by this. I think these people feel it is an inherent weakness. Thus even though it is probably one of the safest forms of SM play most people don't wish to engage in it, talk about it, or see pictures of it. I think feet add to the embarassment somewhat in the sense that people feel even more vunerable when their bare feet are exposed and helpless. You can't really tickle someones feet easily you have to get them off their feet and then take of their shoes and socks then tickle them. I think this might add to the sense of embarrasment people have and thus are probably very touchy about dicussing feet and tickling. Part of this embarassment might come from the fact that ticklishness is involuntary. If your feet are ticklish and someone tickles them your going to laugh and many people don't like this loss of control. I think the fact that it is only tickling somehow escapes them and they kind of panic. Anyway this is just a theory. I don't know if really is the case or not.

I think I've got the answer for you. I have a tickling fetish but not a foot fetish. While I am certainly not against it, I find it hard to umm...let's call it "respond"...to scenes (pics or videos) with a close-up of feet, even if they are being tickled. It simply makes it hard to concentrate on the tickling. I'm not exactly sure why. Let me just put it this way: For some people, adding something that they are not interested in makes it more difficult for them to concentrate on what they are interested in.

It could be that some people do find it painful, unenjoyable. I know some people view it as entirely childish and foolish. Those might be some reasons...I think....maybe...

I think I agree with kurchatovium. It really seems to point to an embarrasement thing. The mention of people thinking of it as a weakness. The responses to tickling aren't an 'each to his own' thing, they're almost prejudiced towards it. Prejudice derives from insecurities. I said in the beginning of the thread that if they do actually like a tickle pic they talk about it in that sort of tone, offering an excuse as if embarrassed to say they like it without first saying "you know, I'm really not into tickle pics but..." first.
Others I think are so into foot worship that they probably see tickling as some sort of defilement...hence the "abusive" thing that was brought up.

I wonder what would happen if I brough this up on the Mousepad discussion forum itself...nah, it would probably start trouble. A missionary to a foreign cause all too often gets skinned alive by the natives. 😛

Well the being out of control thing when tickled is a good answer. that could be a reason why regular foot fetishists don't generally accept tickling. i believe another thing plays into it though. people that have ticklish feet and arent into it dont like to have their feet touched and to a foot fetishist this can be seen as an obsticle. so they might be agianst tickling to some extent for that reason.
