During the days of live television (I know they sometimes still do that, but there was a time when all TV was broadcast live because nobody had figured out how to do it any other way yet) there was a show for kids called Soupy Sales. He had a gimmick on his show where surprise guests would appear behind a door, and on his birthday one year they had a topless dancer there.
There was another camera broadcasting a different view, but they had this footage on the monitor that Soupy could see, so it looked to him like it was going out live exactly like this.

(The annoying stagehand with the balloon is there to give the audience an idea of what Soupy was seeing - all a TV viewer would see is Soupy's back and a balloon waving, with the dancer music)
