With New York's scene so close, you have only to wait for better weather for a road trip to a NY Gathering.
There are other Canadians, though. I'm one of them, and married to another of 'em. Just takes a bit longer, here, as there's less populace. Importing is possible, mind you. Ask my wife. I'm from California, where I ran gatherings for many years. 😉
Speaking of such, you may wish to meet one another, for drinks, coffee, dinner, whatever, and attempt to discuss things social. It's a simple truth that more join a group then answer a personal ad.
Keep in mind that I married someone who'd never attended a gathering beforehand. Becoming familiar to others in this scene makes you appear much safer to the masses. This is a good thing if you actually want to MEET them one-on-one.
Oh, and for those thinkin' I found my wife 'cause I'm a delicate, sensitive, good-lookin' fellow need to think again. I ain't. I'm as flawed as the rest of ya. Just kept meetin' folks 'til I met the one I wanted to marry. Was fun meetin' everyone, too.
It's wicked cool to be married to one of us.
Just takes repeated meetings, in groups and individually, locally and on holiday in other locations. Staying in one place is highly overrated.
