Your thoughts on all incarnations, the ships, the crews, the (catsuits?) and the mystical content like Twin Souls, Law of Attraction and stuff that somehow found its way into it...OK, I nearly put this in the religion forum, but... maybe both?

However the DS9 crew was quite good , without a doubt one of the most epic fight scenes in all Star Trek history * great special effects for its time too *

Deep Space Nine was the best Trek show ever. The Dominion War storyline can't be beat.

Real bottom line is that without Kirk, Spock,McCoy,Scotty, and the original cast of goodguys and creeps, there would never have been any other Star Trek series...

I have to say I got started on TNG myself, not really watching any Star Trek until my dad had me watch with him as a kid, and I loved it. Since then I've been watching them all to get all the history and knowledge of the Star Trek Universe (yes I'm a geek like that 😛 ) and all in all, I'm enjoying all of the series. There's some that you can't just watch unless you've done so already cause you'll be lost. Then there's others that it doesn't matter and you can watch any episode even if you haven't seen the series.

THey ended it like crap...

DS9 was the only Trek show that had a sad ending. I thought that really made it stand out from all the rest. Besides, it was ending with the Dominion War, so there were bound to be deaths, crew transfers, people coming and going, etc.
I think a part of the charm of the show was that it wasn't as squeaky clean as the others, right up until the end. Captain Sisko and crew didn't take the Defiant and ride off into the (not literal) sunset. Heck, Sisko wasn't even there at the end!

Many of the storylines were taken directly from the first series...

The cast was very stiff and stilted the first seaon but improved as it went on...

Except for Riker and Wesley who we could have done without...

I liked Riker but his character did very little to add to the show as for Wesley...well they could have made his character more interesting if he didnt save the ship every week

I'm wondering if the general concensus here is that it went down hill from DS9? For me it's always TOS and subsequent films. I loved the first two seasons of TNG (always hated those damned costumes) and much of 3, by which time I started to understand the characters. So, after that, there were stories that had situations where certain characters did certain things, and you just knew that they wouldn't do whatever it was thy did.

Hated kids on a Starship though. Starbases, or maybe on some ships yes, but the Flag Ship? A high value target? Struck me as a bit dumb

Yeah, the whole families on board thing was kind of stupid. I know it was supposed to be a ship of exploration and not a warship but it wasn't in any way a safe environment for raising a family.

TNG and DS9 were the best series as far as I'm concerned. I'm too young to remember TOS from the first time round and by the time I did see it it just looked really old. The Enterprise prequel could have been really good if it had been handled better but it was pretty mediocre. A wasted opportunity if ever there was one.

The best episode of Star Trek was that episode of Family Guy two weeks ago when Stewie hangs out with the TNG cast all week and they're all acting like a gaggle of marauding five-year-olds. 😀

I could never take to the D. Like all the other designs, but the D seemed a bit off somehow.
