I saw this at the theater last night, then found it on the Web. I thought you Star Wars fans might like this.😎 When I went to see The Lord of the Rings last night, I was pleasantly surprised to be treated to the full 3 minute trailer for Episode II. It loks utterly fantastic, and the scenes between Hayden Christiansen and Natalie Portman were intense. You can really see Anakin turning a bit, as at one point he throws something against the wall and says "It's all Obi-Wan's fault..."

I for one can't wait 'til May for this one!😎

damn am i excited!!!! i saw that poster on the StarWars website and have been just counting down the weeks. that poster says it all. "A Jedi shall not know anger. nor hatred. nor love." no wonder Anakin turned!!! what human doesnt get mad or fall in love? if some little green dude told me that i couldnt fall in love with a beautiful Queen like Amidala, i too would be a little pissed. this episode 2 is looking like it is going to be REAL good. damn, is it May yet?

hey Dave, thanks for the explanation of how the Rebellion started. i pretty much know all the stuff from Episode 4 and beyond. i have read some books that were post-Empire. but learning the history of how the whole saga started is so damn interesting. i remember when some people watched Episode 1, they thought it was okay. nothing exciting. i walked out of the theater all fired up. that movie was so damn cool. i guess if you love the Star Wars story, this new trilogy will be great. it is like one big history lesson. to see how Darth Vader began. to see how the evil Empire started. then, the 1st trilogy makes sense. i explained this to someone not totally familiar with the story line, and after going through the story, she is now interested in Episode 2.

here's another question. remember when Vader pretty much eliminated the Jedi? didnt he wonder where the hell Yoda went? we all know Yoda took off to Dagobah, but if i was Vader, i would look all over the galaxy for that little guy. after all, wasnt it Yoda who first thought young Anakin shouldnt be trained? yeah, i would have made sure i had his head on a platter. i wouldnt believe he was dead until his little green body was stuffed and mounted. by the way, did Yoda know how to use a lightsaber?

damn, i cant wait till May.

Dagobah had a center of the Dark Side, centered around the infamous cave. Yoda stayed near so as to be unseen by Palpatine and Vader. He could have possibly defeated Palpatine, but there's more to it than that, which should become apparent by Episode III.

And Yes, Yoda used a lightsaber and rumor has it that you'll se it in Ep II. Non-confimed, though.😎

I agree that love is important to a deeper understanding of the Force. This is another point raised in the New Jedi Order. One of the sticking points between Qui-Gon and Yoda was this very sort of thing. As the Jedi grew after the Purge, many Jedi re-evaluated how much of their emotions should be put into a relationship with the Force. I have always believed that since it is one's emotions that are key to using the Force, all of them have bearing on one's Path.

You have to remember that Yoda wasn't perfect, and had his own agenda as well, however noble. After 800 years, you develop a certain way of doing things, and less tolerance for "new ways".

I think that Yoda's story will be more fleshed-out soon as well.

speaking of that Dark Side cave on Dagobah, at the time, i had no idea what it meant when Luke cut down the "fake" Vader and saw his image. was it a subtle of way of telling him, guess who daddy is?

damn Dave, how do you now so much about the beginning of the Empire. were there lots of books that told of the story? or are you really George Lucas incognito? if you are, can i have a job?

In a way, the cave gave a hint as to Luke's heritage. More important was the statement Yoda made when Luke asked "What's in there?"

..."Only what you take with you."

The point of the scene was to show that Luke had the potential to fall to the Dark Side if he became impatient. He got frustrated in the dream-duel, and you can see him getting desperate. The sight of his face in Vader's mask showed that he had this potential. This also tied into the scene in "Return of the Jedi" after Luke drove Vader to the ground and cut off his hand. After the onslaught of anger, which came very close to pushing Luke over the edge as it did with Obi-Wan and Darth Maul (read the novelization of Ep I for more on this), he saw the stump of Vader's artificial hand, and realized that he was already on his way to becoming like the old man.

So, I didn't really see that cave scene as a "Luke's Father" thing as much as a warning to Lujke about the fine line he'd soon have to walk. Remember, Yoda told him that he wouldn't need to bring his weapons in with him, yet he did. Had he not, the Force would have revealed a different vision to him based on that decision.

Always in motion is the Force.😎

i was thinking the same thing about the cave, but i also thought that just maybe it also meant the whole heritage thing. you're right, i remember when Luke cut off Vader's hand, then he looked like his. that's when he realized just how much like he was like his father. but it was cool when Luke told Palpatine, "i am a jedi. as my father was before me." that was a cool line. that pissed off the Emperor.

hey, do you think the Emperor could have killed Vader? i think Vader is the most powerful Sith lord ever. he was the "chosen" one. Palpatine was pwerful, but just like Vader told Obi-wan where the pupil will become the master.

i noticed you didnt answer the question. are you really George Lucas? how do we know that IS your picture in your signature? hey, no shame in admitting it. i think it would be cool if Lucas was a tickle fan!!! now we really know what happened to Leia on the 1st Death Star!!!

i still wonder why Vader didnt feel Leia as his child. after all, he figured out Luke. also, Vader did know he had a child right? i guess he knew he just had a son, not a daughter. which also brings up this question. when did Anakin turn into Vader? before, or after the twins birth? because remember what Obi-Wan said. he said that the Emperor knew that any offspring of Anakin would cause problems later. unless Anakin was REAL busy, he noticed Amidala was pregnant. so if he already was Vader, he would tell the Emperor that there are offspring of his hanging around somewhere. so, when did Anakin turn?

Dave you truly are a hero, and something for Star Wars fans around the world to look up to.

Thanks for the nice words, ForgottenTcklr! I appreciate it.

Primetime, I don't really want to speculate too much or give away too much of what I do know about Anakin's turning. This will be revealed in a few months, hang in there! As far as him knowing or not about his children, he knew he had a son, but not twins. This will play out in EpIII, no point in me ruining that, and possibly not being right. Lucas is always updating his scripts, even into production.

Could Vader have defeated the Emperor? Yes and No. Could he have?...perhaps, but Palpatine's power was beyond anything they showed in the films. Would he have?...doubtful. Palpatine's hold on Vader will also play out in the next two films. Vader's position as the "chosen one" is kinda touchy, and another one of those things in Star Wars that depends on your "point of view". He was Fated to destroy the Emperor, but he didn't know this, and no one was sure that it would play out in that manner. It's not like Vader had any special powers because of his "Chosenness". It was merely what The Force had fated for him, if his will was in the right place. Very little about the Force is cut-and-dried...

..."Always in motion is the Future."😎

hey Dave, i got to see two trailers for the movie. man, i am hyped for this one. if you go to their website, you can see the trailers there. the "breathing" one was awesome. then when i saw "forbidden love", i am just bouncing off the walls waiting for May 2002. i especially loved the line by Anakin, "one day, i will be the most powerful Jedi ever." man, are those chilling words or what? damn, i cant wait for May......

isnt it just amazing when you watch this new trilogy and you're just in awe, because you know what is going to happen, but yet, you are on the edge of your seat. i cant think of a better story anywhere besides the Star Wars trilogy.
