Sterograms

How many of you have been to the mall and have seen these Sterogram paintings with hidden pictures in them? I never can see anything in them!🙁 I think I try way to hard, but I have tried and tried and still nothing!

I can't see anything in them either. Ever see Mall Rats when this guy is stadning in front of one of those pics for like, a month, and dosen't see anything? Then Silent Bob walks by and says "Dude, its a sailboat." Good movie, if you like comedy.

🙁 I never can see anything in them either, now my sister can see them all! Aggravates me to the point that I finally saw after about the 50 th time don't you see that helicopter? 🙄 I say "Ohhhhhhh yeah, now I see it!

Whenever I stare at a stereogram, my eyes get tired, but I don't see the hidden image. Perhaps it has something to do with my vision--I'm nearsighted. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm quite nearsighted, and can never see these images. But my brother, who is also nearsighted, can always see them.

I asked my ophthamologist for an explanation of this once, and he said this: I have "lazy eye syndrome," which prevents me from seeing the sterogram images. This means that I don't have true binocular vision, but rather my brain accepts the image from my stronger eye only, unless it is closed, in which case it accepts the image from my weaker eye.

To be cured, lazy eye syndrome must be detected in childhood. So if you've got it, Alex, then it is already too late.

I never have been able to see these darm things!🙁 Always thought I was the only one, seems my friends all see something there but not me.🙁

so THAT’s why I can never see them! I had corrective surgery on a lazy eye as a kid. used to see double and all that. to this day I am nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other, but am no longer cross-eyed (saved me a lot picking on in grade school I am sure). have never had depth perception... but somehow I think that it has helped me in my painting and sketching. rely on subtle shadows more than most.

makes a great excuse for sucking at shooting pool too. 🙂

I must be the freak of the group here. I saw them both. The second one was a little tougher because it was so small.

I had a couple of books of these when I was younger. I used to stare at them all the time. While I can do pictures pretty easily, I have never been able to do those posters. I think its the larger scale, I can't get my eyes to cross that far.

Thanks for the info, mila. I've been wearing glasses since the third grade, but over time I've learned to adjust. Anyways, the problem's not so bad, since I have better things to do with my time than look at a bunch of fuzzy images. 😛
