I must be out of the loop. i just heard about this straight talk phone from Walmart. anyone know anything about it? worth getting?

Well, I don't really know from experience, I just use an old tracphone.

But, my mom and sister testify that it's a fairly decent deal. They can both get along with it well enough, and evidently it's cheaper than most phone plans, or so I've heard.

Good question. my friend said that they use Verizon sattelites, so if thats true, it must be the same id assume.

Since verizon's involved, you may want to ask about what towers will they be using. I've been a Verizon customer 9 years and will be leaving as soon as my contract is up next June. Since they bought Alltel, the service in my area is the absolute worst.....dropped calls, missed voicemails and texts. They told me that when they bought Alltel they kept their towers; why on earth would you buy a crappy company and keep their crappy equipment?

But the deal is good at $45 so investigate it out and I hope it works for you.

i have thought about getting that myself a few times but for now im sticking with boost i get decent service with then for 50 a month
