Strangest situations where youve been asked if you are ticklish?

Okay, here is a question for the members on the TMF. Has any TMF member ever either asked someone if they are ticklish, or been asked if they were ticklish, in a situation where you normally wouldnt think that question would be asked? I dont mean have you tickled or been tickled, I'm just talking about asking someone if they are ticklish or being asked if you are ticklish. By this, Iam excluding in the TMF chat, where that question always gets asked. I mean like has a co worker, or someone you didnt know well ever asked you if you were tickish, or have you ever asked someone you didnt know well if they are ticklish? Before I joined the TMF, a pen pal, who is now deceased, told me that he asked his female insurance agent during a phone call about insurance if she is ticklish, and he said her answer to him was "yes, very". At the time, I couldnt fathom that he was brave enough to do that. For myself, aside from TMF chat, the only thing I've been doing since 1996 is to ask female pen pals if they are ticklish. So far I've gotten close to 60 answers. At times, though, the question can backfire, and I've had times where girls write back and dont answer, or at times get mad and never write me again. Usually I ask just once in my 2nd letter to them, after I get to know them. If they answer, fine, if not, I dont ask it again. Aside from college, where I tickled a couple of girls who were friends, and discussed tickle, the only other place I've asked a question was on the phone to a former pen pal. Somehow we just got into the convo about tickling and I said "Are you ticklish?" and she replied "Yes, Iam very ticklish" with a tone of almost mock anger. I didnt ask her spots because of her reaction, but I did manage to ask her a couple of foot questions, and she told me she didnt go barefoot often. That is the only time I've ever asked the question to a girl on the phone.
Anyhow, my purpose in this post is to find out if anyone has ever asked the question of being ticklish to another in an uncommon situation, or been asked if you were ticklish in an uncommon situation. I look forward to any feedback.

I'm trying to remember back, I always like when the person who's stuck in the middle of the back seat of a packed car gets asked, lol. I think we've always ambushed the poor person in the middle.

Here's what I find funny, if a woman sits on your lap, why does she 9 out of 10 times remark she's ticklish at some point to you!? 🙂

I don't like being asked that question at school, but every once in awhile some smart alec will ask me and I usually ignore them.

"i going see if i can think up a silly question to ask you for a laugh*

and then they usely just laugh and go ok and then i aks them 😛 hehe it works for me everytime lol

Two "unusual" situations:

1.) A young lady at the help desk in my previous job. I was in the help desk room one day because I was in the hallway, and they had a phone call for me that ended up in the support center. One of the girls in there, Anita, was walking around in nylons, no shoes. While I was talking on the phone she had her legs crossed with her foot close to me. So I reached out and stroked her sole. She twitched slightly. After I hung up I made an observation to her that she wasn't ticklish. She said she normally was very ticklish, but in a bad mood that day. Later in the week, the entire department was at a restaurant. As we were walking to the table, I noticed that Anita was not wearing any socks, despite that the temperature outdoors was in the low 20's. I again made the (duh) obvious-observation that she wasn't wearing any socks. After we sat down at the table, and got settled I got a surprise. I was sitting next to her, and she turned to me and said, "..why do care if I'm not wearing socks? What do you want to do Steve, tickle my feet?" Well, I couldn't beleive she said that within earshot of everyone. So I looked around, saw that no one was paying attention to us, and simply stated, "...I didn't think your feet were ticklish." She said, "Oh...they're verrry ticklish......you just didn't get me on the right day." I decided to change the subject because we just had too many work-people around us.

2.) Same employer, months later. I was in a class that was designed to teach us interviewing techniques. There were two young ladies in it, both were interested in me, Julie, who had made her intentions known to her friends who made them known to me, and Brenda, who was all during the class trying to get my attention (I don't know why they liked me, I tend to be a dork 🙂 I tried to stear away from Julie, because I didn't want to "carry on" during a class. Little did I know, Brenda would get me in her clutches! Anyway, I'm sitting next to Brenda, and she's saying something to me while I'm trying to listed to the facilitator. I'm not really paying attention to her, because I wanted to hear what was being said. All of a sudden, she reaches out, pokes her index finger into the side of my stomach, and starts tickling me, making me bounce a little in my seat. It was a quick tickle, but then she makes the observation...."oooooh he's ticklish!" I couldn't believe it! I've seldomly had females spontanteously just decide to tickle me in public! I tried to reach out and get her back, but she moved quickly away --a sign to me that she was ticklish (and it turned out that boy...was she ever ticklish! One of the most ticklish woman I've ever met!)

3.) Same employer --at a golf outing. The HR manager..of all people...Diane. We're at the after-outing bar having some dinner. We're all talking and having a lively conversation. Diane is standing behind me, saying something, while I'm trying (again) to listed to someone else who's talking. Then I hear the magic words, "Steve.....are you ticklish?" She then starts gently probing my ribs from behind, one hand --each side, so I take evasive maneuvers by leaning forward. She wouldn't stop! I don't know who was watching us, but my natural reaction was to defend myself with a counter-tickle. So I turned around and started tickling her stomach, which made her scream. Well...that stopped everyone in their tracks. They started looking at me, and cheering, "yeah!!! Steve! Way to go!" I was embarrased, because she started it and I got nailed for it!

That's as much rambling as I can remember. It's too bad more women don't poke and tickle guys by surprise. Of course, since us guys tend to have our mind on the sexual side of things constantly, I certainly understand 🙂

I was asked once in an interview if I was ticklish, but found it very intimidating sat there as the only woman with a panel of 3 men.

The only other time turned out to be great fun - I used to live in London and anyone who's been there knows how crowded the tubes get in rush hour. We were crammed in like sardines and I had my arm up holding onto the rail. A guy stood next to me kept nudging me in the ribs (I would swear it was deliberately), I gave him a just you dare try that one more time sort of look and he smiled at me and said how sorry he was but he always told to make at least one person smile every day. I asked him how he made sure he did that and he said "I usually ask them if they're ticklish" I was inwardly gigling but cooly replied "Oh". We travelled another stop or two and he said "So - are you?" Playing along I refused to say, next thing I knew I was crumpled in a giggling heap on the floor of the tube as he had placed both hands on my side and tickled me making me let go of the rail and fall to the floor.
Show how reserved us Brits though cos hardly anyone looked at all.

wow really i always though us brits just look weird at us people who like to tickle. Best place is cananda their so lay back, i mean i have a friend there who a student and everyone tickles each other there no worries at all. He a luckey guy he gets to tickle these 3 girls pretty much everyday. luckey or what lol

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I especially liked the ones about the work tickle situations, because thats not normally a place where one would tickle, or ask about tickling. I dont remember if I've previously posted this, but my friend who works in the post office plant told me that he has seen tickling going on there as well. Mainly people coming over as workers are sorting the mail, and tickling a co worker in the sides or belly etc. He said this has happened on several occasions.

I have had two experiences. One directly related to the original question and the other "sorta" related:

1. I went boating with a friend several years ago. I took in the mooring lines and got aboard. I discovered that I had stepped in creosote and was tracking it on deck so I removed my shoes and we got underway. She wanted to practice anchoring, so we entered a shallow cove and went to the bow to deploy and recover the anchor. We knelt down and while I was explaining anchoring techniques and equipment, she stroked the sole of one of my feet. When I jumped, she asked if I was ticklish. I didn't give her an answer, but mentally I yelled, "ya think?".

2. I had knee surgery several years ago. While being prepared for surgery, one of the Nurses put a pair of those elastic booties on my feet. This effort seemed to take her a long time even though I did my best to hold still so she could get it done quickly. Neither of us spoke, but mentally I yelled "hurry up! Can't you see I'm ticklish?". To this day, I can't help but wonder if that Nurse was a ticklephile.

Now that you mention strange unusual situations...

One I remeber pretty well happened at college. I was at the bar, actually waiting to get what I´ve bought. This particular bar was at the time almost deserted...maybe cause it was late afternoon or something.
Now While I was waiting, suddenly just felt these fingers poking at my sides from behind giving me some shivers lol....winter in Portugal was a cold one that year so I had a lot of close on....and also ribs and sides are not my most ticklish spots.
But then, when I turned to see who was there I got to see the most gorgeous girl on my class who promptly said/asked:
humm guess you´re just a bit ticklish?

As she was really a pretty girl and I´ve poked her sides many times prior she deserved an answer and I told her I was more sensitive to light tickling and on other spots.
Got a big smile and an "interesting" as an answer.....and sure....I did gave her a quick tickle as revenge hehehe

but no...lol never got out with her, never tickled her elsewhere far from her ribs and sides and even there not long. But yes!!!!! I do know she is very ticklish pretty much everywhere....she might be something of a ticklephile cause she as sisters and sometimes she talks of tickling going on at house. Why am I not taking a chance...she´s allways overcrowded lolol and I´m a bit shy to go for it in front of so many people lol....life has things like this 🙂

I was in the hospital after getting hit by a car, and this gorgeous doctor had come in to examine me. He told me he had to see my feet (I was barefoot) so I could push down on his hand. He said "You're not ticklish, are ya?" with a little grin. I put my foot on his hand, and pushed down, and when my leg came back up, he gave me a quick tickle on the foot, and I giggled a little.

I get asked all the time if I'm ticklish. One of the times that sticks out in my memory was this one time when I was in my senior year in highschol and I was at a beach sunning on a towel. This guy who looked to be around his mid 20's reached over and suddenly poked me in the side. I jerked up giggling and said,"hey!" and just glared at him. He said,"sorry, I just wanted to know if you were ticklish." I smiled at him and told him that I obviously was and then I Layed back down. he left like five minutes later.
