Suggestion for Forums

Well the Image forum does get a lot of posts, which only really get a couple of replies unless it's a rare post, which in that case gets quite a few. But some people just go into the forum and create 5/6 new threads with a different image in each, which bumps other people's threads down, threads that are unlikely to get noticed with the arrival of new threads.

A lot of members of the community tend to post their own drawings and artwork in the image section now, and I personally, feels this ruines it. I think the image gallery should be strictly for the postings of photographs. Hence, my suggestion to create an "Artwork & Animation" forum for those who tend to post their drawings and artwork.

Please post your thoughts on the matter...

Well, I must say that I agree with your thoughts. I have a similiar idea, not a complaint really but I see a problem.
I currently am running an ongoing post on tickling tips and tricks. I am an avid tickler and I have quite a bit of experience under my fingers.

The problem is, we all know that a thread which appears on the most recently posted on threads at the home page has a better chance of being viewed. I agree with you in that someone will post several threads containing one pic each. This bumps all other threads down.

I enjoy looking at pics and am glad they are there but I think it is a better idea for a member to post pics in the same thread. I mean everytime they post a new pic, their thread gets to the top of the list again so it is not hurting them. However, by posting one pic per thread on mutiple threads does hurt other posters.

I am not mad about this, I just see where we all need to try to help each other and be courtious. It is not necessary to post multiple pics in multiple threads when you can do it all in one.

Do you see me posting different tips on completely separate threads? You all would hang me for that. I have all my tips in one place, get responses in one place and reply in one place.

I have a few more threads floating around that I started but I just let them go on down the list. The only other time you see me pop up is when I reply to someone else's thread like yours here.

No hard feelings to the image posters, I love yall, keep posting, but try to be a little more conservative when ya can, since most pics do not recieve near as much feedback as discussion forums do.

I agree. No need to tie up space with fifty threads that could really fit in just one.

Well to hit on the point ExoTickle had...

I can do one or both of these ideas if you people agree on them...

1. I could make a new forum called Artwork and allow people to post their own drawings like the TMF kinda has going there.

2. I could make the threads in the images forum not update to the top whenever a reply is made. So the threads would be listed in order of which they were created, not updated...

Number 1 looks good but number 2 might cause some problems. What if a thread is getting tons of people to post images but is pushed off the page by a bunch of new threads? Then anyone who is new or hasn't checked the Images section in a while would probably miss a great thread!

Here is what I think

I think it is fair that when someone posts an image that it goes on the list at the home page. That way, it gets a better chance of being viewed. The problem is that some image posters will post a new thread for each new image instead of just replying to their own thread they started. There is nothing wrong if they just kept placing new images in the same thread. It would still get their thread at the top of the list each time they posted on it, but instead they flood the list with a new thread for each image. That would be like me posting a new thread everytime I added a tip to my tickling tips thread.

If they cannot post images more considerately, then I think number two might be a good idea. They have every right to be on the home page thread list, but not to bump others down with uneccessary postings of new threads per picture.

Number one might be good as well, both have perks, but maybe both can be avoided if you would just mention this to a member, next time they do this pic flooding.

There are only one or two members I have seen doing it so, maybe you could just mention it to them next time they do it and save yourself some hassle by having to change something.

Good idea, lets go straight to the root of the problem. If we can get those few who do it to stop, then our problem will have dissapeared.
