Sunday Dress

Amelia has just made a dress for Sunday. She has asked her cousin Richie for his opinion. He doesn't seem to be too impressed.

The shading in this picture is quite impressive, so rich and varied. Very nice sketchwork, the sort of thing we tend to miss in computer-aided art. Richie is another intriguing new character! A nemesis for Amelia? Bratty little boys can make such devious, sadistic ticklers (Pab's Damien, for example). I'm sure Amelia's atire will grab the Sunday students' attention... I only hope the pastor approves!

wish we had girls like Amelia teaching sunday school back when I was a kid. We had a bunch of old ladies and the mother's of the girls there would always scold them for taking off their mary-janes.

I wonder what the deal was. I'm a sneaker person myself, but they're kids. Let 'em kick their shoes off. I read a study once that shoes were actually quite harmful to feet. The author suggest that kids should roam around barefoot as much as possible so their feet would develop properly. I saw a free-spirited character in Amelia and this study put the finishing touches on the character. The Chinese attire was just for kicks though.

funny thing about the chinese, a while back the women wore these tiny shoes and bandaged their feet up because it was considered attractive, even though they could barely walk. Their feet were so scrunched up, it was terrifying. If only someone had told them there were men who LIKED big feet. lol (me)
