My humble thanks to all who have served our country with honor. If you know or meet a veteran, shake his or her hand and thank them for their service. They sacrifice so much, and often go in harm's on our behalf. They are owed a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid. :usa:

Thanks for the reminder, Bugman. Of all the things that he did, my father was proudest of his service in World War II.

My father was in Vietnam and my husband deployed to Afghanistan two years ago. They deserve so much more thanks than could ever be given, for the things they went through. I'm so proud of our soldiers.

Thanks Goth.

Thank your father for his service on my behalf. I hope your husband is home now, or will be soon.

I honor the memory of your father and Uncle Al, who you've mentioned here before. May they R.I.P.

Actually my father passed when I was 18. But yes my husband is home, he was over there for about a year. I'm VERY glad he won't be deploying again!

I'm sorry about your father Brandi. 🙁 It's nice knowing your husband is safe and sound on American soil. 🙂

I would like to offer the perspective of an active duty soldier: while it's nice for strangers to act extra friendly i would beg you to avoid the words "thank you for your service". It may be meant with the best of intentions but we dont know how to answer these things. Its kind of awkward for a soldier. I am pleased that so many of the people we fight for every day care so deeply about us. The best thing you can do to thank us is just be people worth fighting for. Happy veterans day. I ask that you take a moment to remember us, and enjoy your day. In honor of the fallen:
Major Tom "TK" Kennedy, 8 Aug 2012
1Lt Todd Lambka, 1 August 2012
Ssg Ricardo Seija, 8 July 2012
Spc Erika Alecksen, 8 July 2012
Spc Clarence Williams, 8 July 2012
Pfc Alejandro Pardo, 8 July 2012
Pfc Trevor Adkins, 8 July 2012
Pfc Cameron Stambaugh, 8 July 2012
2lt David Rylander, 2 May 2012
Cpt Matthew Ferrara, 9 November 2007
Just to name a few.

An intresting perspective, and something that never occured to me. I am sorry you have lost so many brothers and sisters in arms. 🙁
