As Primetime brought up in the last poll, there's a good chance of a team coming out of the first round to go all the way. In fact, 4 of the last 5 SB's have had a team surprise everyone by clawing out of the first round. If every SuperBowl were to be played by the top two seeds, there'd be no need for playoffs, right?
Ok, so who stands the best chance of actually being this years' Patriots, Ravens or Titans? Teams playing first round games only....
My pick? The Jets. Indy's too streaky, Cleveland is outmatched long-term, Pittsburgh's too prone to turnovers, the Giants are also too streaky and inconsistant, San Fran won't get through two tough teams on the road, Atlanta has looked horrible for the last few weeks, and Green Bay...I don't know, it just doesn't feel right.
Chad Pennington doesn't make too many mistakes, Curtis Martin is the big double-threat this year, with Marshall Faulk not playing, Wayne Chrebet seems to always come through in the clutch and the special teams (a highly underrated area, but very important) are extremely good. Plus, they're on a high and they seem to believe they can actually do it. Remember the predicted outcome of New England's campaign last year?
