i've been impressed with these long overdue super hero flicks, i.e. xmen, punisher, etc.

ALL of them i loved even, hulk, which the action was great, even inbetween an hour and half of emotional crap. now this fantastic four flick has me on the edge of the seat. and with word on making a movie about Iron Man. what do you think should be next, which super hero/comic character you feel deserves to be next?

i personally am kinda pissed of the lack of Beast from the xmen series, he was my favorite, even Jubilee would be nice.

and since hobgoblin would be in spiderman 3, i'm upset they're not gonna have venom as the villian, who is a personal favorite of mine.

They have nicolas cage as ghost rider comin and iron man being announced

I personally dislike all the hype, people are makin money and popularity off somethin most of us wer emocked for in our youth. God i hate the mainstream, always stretches the concept to fit everyones appeal and then kills the true nature of the characters.

All Aboard for Asgard?

Well, as a kid, my second favorite comic book (after the Fantastic Four) was the Mighty Thor. I'm not sure it could work on the big screen today, though. It would be tricky to keep him from looking comical with the Wagnerian outfit and the elevated way he spoke. Maybe Peter Jackson, who directed Lord of the Rings, could pull it off.
I never cared much for Iron Man, for the same reason that I wasn't into stories of medieval knights. Wearing armor struck me as cowardly.

Both Beast and Jubilee appeared in the X-Men movies. Jubilee is one of Xavier's students and appears in both X1 and X2 (very short appearances). She is also one of the main characters of the Generation X movie (which wasn't very good). Beast appears in X2 (blink and you'll miss it). He is in a TV programme about mutants. And no...He is not in his blue-and-furry form.

Would like to see Jubilee get more active roles in the X-movies.

I have seen on the 'net that a script is in development for a Wonder Twins movie. It's being written by the same people who write the Spongebob Squarepants cartoon.

Not that I don't like the good ol' American created superheros in the comics (I'd like to see a Fables, S.I.P, or a good Garth Ennis comic (The Preacher) emulated into a movie), but I think it would be REALLY cool to see a Sailor Moon movie. They already have a Sailor Moon show in Japan using real girls! I was thinking just graphics made on the computer...but my boss is a downloading fanatic and he copied the entire first season of the show over there, and despite some initial cheesiness, I liked it! It could work using people! Although I think it should be a bit darker themed with more awesomeness and less cheesiness (I.e. more like the original cartoon aired in Japan, and not have villans looking like they were pulled from a Power Rangers set like it would seem in the live action show airing now in Japan.) *hopes*

You have got to be kidding! The Wonder Twins werent even really from the DC Universe originally. They were created by Hanna Barbera as an addition to the Super Friends cartoon to appeal to a younger age demographic. I still remember those safety tip shorts they did....LOL. My favorite was when one of them turned into a fork to teach you "Don't stick me in the light socket!" ROFLMAO

As for comic movies, reliable sources have confirmed that Sam Raimi is on the verge of a six picture deal with the Spiderman franchise. This means 4 more chances for them to screw it up....LOL. As long as they do Venom and Carnage justice, I'll be happy. Its also rumored he's going to be shooting parts 3 and 4 back to back to save on overall production costs. This also probably means he'll never get around to that 4th Evil Dead movie he's always talked about. If they do it right, they'll have Venom in the 5th movie and then finish it up with the "Maximum Carnage" storyline for the final. And for some ungodly reason they're doing a second Hulk movie where they introduce the gray Hulk plotline. I hope they bring in some actual real villains this time, its rumored that Abomination or The Leader are being considered....

I know for a fact that their making a Ghost Rider movie right now with Nicholas Cage as the burning bad boy himself. And there are rumors that DC wants to jump on this "action movies for kids" bandwagon like "Spy Kids" and the new "Sharkboy and Lava Girl" flicks with a Teen Titans movie. I just hope they try for the original incarnation rather than that new Anime-infused TV series.

It seems indipendent comics are being bought up just as much as the mainstream titles. Director Robert Rodriguez is currently working on both the Sin City sequel and the new Conan movie adapted more from the comic than even the original flicks. Also in the works is the dark zombie-fest comic-movie adaptation of Joshua Oppenheimer's "Dead Of Night" series in which the dead walk among us without our knowledge. And the super-gorey slasher series "Bonesaw" is also being adapted to film with no release date yet announced. Also look for Alan Moores "V for Vendetta" movie with Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving and John Wagners "A History of Violence" with Viggo Mortensen by the end of this year.

Iron Man has been pushed back to a 2007 release due to the fact that they still don't even have a director. They had considered Nick Cassavetes who directed "The Notebook". Marvel also "announced" that they would be making a Captain America movie as well, but other than that no information has been released although they did say that preproduction on the Silver Surfer film would begin after they wrap up X3 and Spiderman 3.

........now honestly how many of you think any of these will see the light of day? LOL I remember way back in the 90's they were going to make a movie based on "The Maxx" comic...still wish they had. I loved that series and it would make for an ubber-trippy movie...

And on a related note, its been confirmed that Kelsey Grammer will be playing pre-mutation Hank McCoy and then lending his voice for Beast, Maggie Grace (TV's "Lost") is set to play Kitty Pryde and Vinnie Jones (movie "Snatch") will be playing Juggernaut (most likely just the voice with a CGI body) in the third X-Men movie. The actor David Anders (TV's "Alias") is being considered for the part of Angel.......I'm hoping for the best....😛

I'm also agreeing with Aphrodite on the Sailor Moon movie thing. I remember they had proposed something like that back when it had hit the height of its mainstream popularity in the 90's but it just never got off the ground. I seem to remember they wanted to get Geena Davis to play Queen Beryl.

If the biggest thing I am is a tickle fetishist, than a close number 2 is a Film Fanatic. All I've ever done is work in Movie Theaters and Video Stores and always keep up with Hollywood news.....I'M A DORK!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!! LOL

I'm telling you. I found this info on the net.

As for the twins not being in the DC universe, DC took them in and added them to The SuperFriends comic book. They actually did a great job with the twins. They had them arrive on Earth, and they went through high school, had to learn english, and adapted secret identities. They also developed their powers better. Jayna was turning into space creatures, and Zan was turning into monsoons, tidal waves, and in one issue, JackFrost, freezing everything he touched.

When DC revamped their continuity, they had the series Extreme Justice. They used that series to re-introduce the Wondertwins to the new continuity.

I dunno, ive yet to see a true\anime\magna movie make the transition over to film and maintain its glory. There is an ancient dragonball movie which is god aweful and apparently a dragonballz movie is in the makes, yes cgi wise it can be accomplished but still. There was also a fist of the northstar movie made for HBO years ago, it just wasnt the same and didnt keep the specialty of the origional anime. Heh there was also a wicked city live action movie, but like the anime, it was 85% demon sex

Or what about the two "Guyver" movies they did based on the Anime of the same name? I will admit I like the scene where Mark Hamil transforms into a mutated creature....LOL The DragonBall Z movie rights were bought by Fox this year, but that doesnt necessarily mean that they're going to do anything with it. Usually when they do that its just so no one else can beat them to it IF they decide to make it. Bastards....

And for the record I actually have that god awful Generation X movie on tape! Matt Frewer is the villain! LOL

Oh no, I'm not denying that they didnt BECOME a part of the DC Universe but they werent originally concieved by the people at DC. I guess their popularity on the show urged DC to use them for real.

I forgot about the guyver movies, the 1st one wasnt "that" bad

I have the tape too of Gen X, the one girl who's all muscylar under her shirt that they show like an insert of a muscular man's back...lol

The only cool lookin parts of that movie was when banshee screamed and skins stretchin power. I believe it was a FOX made for tv movie

I heard that geeky, whinny Jake Gyllenhaal was being considered for the role of Superman in the new Superman movie. Thank God they chose someone else but that skinny wimp! I forgot the guys name but it looks like hell make a good Superman. Hes not a well known actor but hell fit the role. Lois Lane is being played by an A List actress but again my memory fails me folks...sorry!

We gunna get iron man, another xmen movie, a wolverine movie, a spiderman 3. Thats all i know.

Yeah live action sailor moon movie, that would be kinda easy. As long as they keep britney spears away from the princess serenity role.

Thats my biggest fear....that if they ever do decide to go ahead with the Sailor Moon movie, it'll probably be a cast like Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, maybe the Olsen Twins, etc.......a teen diva schmorgesbourg......RETCH!!!

like 3 years ago i heard they were gonna do a real life dragon ball z movie. i guess it fell through the cracks.

Ok, so in lieu of the fact that we dont' actually have a *talented* actor to play Ghost Rider, (the only reason Nick Cage gets gigs is cuz he's related to Copolla) who would be your choices to play Tony Stark/Iron Man?

I saw that they have marlon brando in the new superman movie, naturally i question this cuz he's dead, are they gonna cgi him from the origional superman movie? Or they gonna seemlessly edit all his movies together, jor-el talking like col. Kurtz from apocalypse now

:::Kal-el blasts off from the planet:::
jor-el-...the horror!

I heard they were going to get Anthony Hopkins to play Brando's role. That was Supermans father, Ja'ar El' (don't think I spelled it right....never could 😛)
