Would like to see Jubilee get more active roles in the X-movies.
I have seen on the 'net that a script is in development for a Wonder Twins movie. It's being written by the same people who write the Spongebob Squarepants cartoon.
You have got to be kidding! The Wonder Twins werent even really from the DC Universe originally. They were created by Hanna Barbera as an addition to the Super Friends cartoon to appeal to a younger age demographic. I still remember those safety tip shorts they did....LOL. My favorite was when one of them turned into a fork to teach you "Don't stick me in the light socket!" ROFLMAO
As for comic movies, reliable sources have confirmed that Sam Raimi is on the verge of a six picture deal with the Spiderman franchise. This means 4 more chances for them to screw it up....LOL. As long as they do Venom and Carnage justice, I'll be happy. Its also rumored he's going to be shooting parts 3 and 4 back to back to save on overall production costs. This also probably means he'll never get around to that 4th Evil Dead movie he's always talked about. If they do it right, they'll have Venom in the 5th movie and then finish it up with the "Maximum Carnage" storyline for the final. And for some ungodly reason they're doing a second Hulk movie where they introduce the gray Hulk plotline. I hope they bring in some actual real villains this time, its rumored that Abomination or The Leader are being considered....
I know for a fact that their making a Ghost Rider movie right now with Nicholas Cage as the burning bad boy himself. And there are rumors that DC wants to jump on this "action movies for kids" bandwagon like "Spy Kids" and the new "Sharkboy and Lava Girl" flicks with a Teen Titans movie. I just hope they try for the original incarnation rather than that new Anime-infused TV series.
It seems indipendent comics are being bought up just as much as the mainstream titles. Director Robert Rodriguez is currently working on both the Sin City sequel and the new Conan movie adapted more from the comic than even the original flicks. Also in the works is the dark zombie-fest comic-movie adaptation of Joshua Oppenheimer's "Dead Of Night" series in which the dead walk among us without our knowledge. And the super-gorey slasher series "Bonesaw" is also being adapted to film with no release date yet announced. Also look for Alan Moores "V for Vendetta" movie with Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving and John Wagners "A History of Violence" with Viggo Mortensen by the end of this year.
Iron Man has been pushed back to a 2007 release due to the fact that they still don't even have a director. They had considered Nick Cassavetes who directed "The Notebook". Marvel also "announced" that they would be making a Captain America movie as well, but other than that no information has been released although they did say that preproduction on the Silver Surfer film would begin after they wrap up X3 and Spiderman 3.
........now honestly how many of you think any of these will see the light of day? LOL I remember way back in the 90's they were going to make a movie based on "The Maxx" comic...still wish they had. I loved that series and it would make for an ubber-trippy movie...
And on a related note, its been confirmed that Kelsey Grammer will be playing pre-mutation Hank McCoy and then lending his voice for Beast, Maggie Grace (TV's "Lost") is set to play Kitty Pryde and Vinnie Jones (movie "Snatch") will be playing Juggernaut (most likely just the voice with a CGI body) in the third X-Men movie. The actor David Anders (TV's "Alias") is being considered for the part of Angel.......I'm hoping for the best....
😛
I'm also agreeing with Aphrodite on the Sailor Moon movie thing. I remember they had proposed something like that back when it had hit the height of its mainstream popularity in the 90's but it just never got off the ground. I seem to remember they wanted to get Geena Davis to play Queen Beryl.
If the biggest thing I am is a tickle fetishist, than a close number 2 is a Film Fanatic. All I've ever done is work in Movie Theaters and Video Stores and always keep up with Hollywood news.....I'M A DORK!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!! LOL
