An elderly couple, having hated each other throughout their long marriage, decided as a final insult to have tombstones carved for one another. The old husband showed his spouse the one he'd had made for her, which read,
"Here lies my wife, cold as usual'.
And the old lady triumphantly presented his, which read,
'Here lies my husband, stiff at last'.
