Hi shedevil, if anything, people here in Canada are a lot more paranoid.I tried for years to get a gathering of Canadians together like the States have done. It's quite hard to find anybody anywhere around here to even open up and talk.
tk_turn_on I know how it can get you down. Been there as I'm sure the majority of us have. People can even hateyou when you do find somebody. When I had my own group, and found my lady, I talked about how wonderful it was...I wanted everyone to know they shouldn't give up,things happen in their own time. So many accused me of throwing my happiness in their face instead of the true intention I talked about it.
But hey, what can ya do?
I think any advice I could give is to treat anybody you talk to as a person and not just a ticklee. I also know how tired many are about the same old questions. Just get to know them, what they like and don't like. It may take as long as a year or more before a good amount of trust is developed.
My wife and I were best friends long before the relationship changed and I think that's what made us stronger in the end. No secrets, we could talk about anything and everything, and that continued when we took the next step. Best of luck my friend, I for one will be rooting for ya.
